03 1.6 Rear View Mirror Fitting - cashani

The rear view mirror has fallen off and at the same time the fitting to the windscreen has come off the rear view mirror stalk. It is a ball end that needs to go back into the stalk, but what is the best way to do that. I've tried everything at the moment without any joy?

Any help would be most appreciated.

I'm sorry to say but the only thing you can do now is to buy a new one once this has happened, they don't go back together !
