Morning,
At what temperature would you consider putiing a small amount of petrol in a tank of diesel to stop it waxing?
And what amount of petrol in a 60l tank of diesel.
Thanks in advance

I remember someone starting an engine in this way;rag soaked in paraffin, lit and held at the air cleaner intake while someone else cranked.Engine started,so he put rag on ground and stepped on it to extinguish it-minor problem, crepe soled shoes, man tearing around trying to pull off a shoe with a flaming, paraffin soaked sole.

My wife makes me laugh!!
I am getting her a newer car while all the time we cry poverty to her parents!!!
Anyway, because we cry poverty, they will question why a 2000 Focus has gone and been replaced by a 2005 Audi A2!!!
My wife has a cunning plan, tell them that the car has mechanically failed in some way and it is actually cheaper to invest in a new car than repair the old one. Problem is, the Focus has just passed its MOT.
So, what bull poo excuse can we put forward for a major failing of the Focus that escapes the notice of an MOT?

Why not just tell 'em what you are really thinking. You're not getting your money back, I'm not really skint and I have blown your kind hearted gesture of financial support on an aluminium upturned pram. Now pop your clogs so we can get the next instalment pronto.

Hi all.
The abs on my car is coming on when it shouldn't.
It does it under light braking & kicks in just before the car stops, the last metre or 2 before stopping.
The abs light has never came on apart from the usuall - on for a few seconds when first switching on the ignition.
Also there is a clicking/ticking sound coming from the front nearside of the car. This sound starts as soon as I touch the brake pedal, but goes away when I release the pedal.
The brakes work perfectly but the abs coming on is a pain & scares passengers with the noise it makes, not to mention me. :-)
Thanks for any help. Read more
Will that be a dealer part, or are they available from others?
Hi Could anybody tell me what sort of price does a 52-53 406 hdi estate go for at auction.
Thanks Read more
Bit of an awkward Q that one - so many derivatives/engine/trim levels.
But less £3500 for something rep-spec & 120k, up to £5500ish for more 'sensible' miles & higher trim level.
Guess you've already cliked the AuctionView link to our left, but what you'd best look for are the Peugeot BRANDED sales -you'll have a reasonably well maintained end of lease vehicle, that way.
I actually looked hard n long for one of these, for myself, before discovering the exceptional value in the Omega I bought 2 years ago. It was VERRRRRY dificult to find a nice one, without paint defects, or being over priced, so don't expect a fast result, if you're as fussy as me!!

I remember years ago ( 1998 ) that I had the choice between a Daewoo Matiz SE+ or a Daihatsu Cuore Avanzato. That was about all the choice was for proper small cars back then if you wanted any equipment. The Daihatsu has loads of character and urge, while the Daewoo had an outstanding ownership package and was heaped with equipment for back then at that price.
I really with id gone for the Daihatsu, what a car! So much fun in a small package. There just isnt that kinda choice anymore? Will the japanese ever let us have some of their more fabulous small cars again?
We need small, fun cars but nobody seems to make them, which is especially strange as there does seem to be a trend towards more economical solutions.
The japanese have so many interesting, oddball cars, is it a big issue to sell them over here?

All you need is a Modus. Fun and characterful. And.........
....." the Modus has at last broken the spell on Renault's
poor reliability, with a performance in its first two years that
even some Far-Eastern carmakers might envy." (Which? 2006/07)
Good. If they can keep it up, fair play to them.
And I won't even make any comment about Nissan's influence possibly finally beginning to come through either.
Irrelevant anyway. If it's one more manufacturer who can make good cars, that's all good as far as I am concerned.
Time will tell.
Apparently this is the one we all want.

It´s for sale, it´s the Maserati Quattroporte!!!
Very good looking, very expensive, 17mpg... that would hurt even if you were quite rich these days, especially if you were 'ecologically conscious' or something along those lines...
I imagine you would find it quite easy to bear the pain though :o)
Yep, just got one and maybe two more on the way!!!!!! Ain't driven any distance from N. Devon for years and got knobbled two weeks ago doing 38mph. Dual carriageway, traffic lights everywhere, but poorly lit and blah blah blah etc etc. So I've got it and that's that..................Now, did I recall recently an ongoing case (test case) I believe, where the defendant was suggesting that he/she/they did not have to incriminate themselves. Does anyone know anything about this and has a precedent been established. I didn't actually realise that you can't concentrate on the driving anymore.

AS, it was the case you referred to in "... the information you have given in your PACE statement cannot be used against you as that is a condition under which it was supplied. The whole matter is going thru the High Court and EU CHR".
What case is that?

Modern Peugeots are a disgrace.
I saw one of those 407 Coupé things the other day. Vile. How can they not notice that the previous one was gorgeous and the new one is stupid?
As ever, IMHO.
On a Peugeot tack, does anybody remember the 104 Barchetta? I remember it being symmetrical.

They'd love it in Los Angeles. Can't say I do.
