To make it fair, it should be on its original engine and gearbox.
Year, make and model please :)

I am thinking of getting a DAB Radio for the car but have read that sales are poor because they don't work well in cars.
Does anyone out there have one and are they worth the investment?
I am particularly interest in the Revo system. Any feedback welcome before I spend my hard earned cash

"how about nearly 7 grand for a pair of speaker cables?"
I'm clearly in the wrong business. Thinks...now what if I take a set of doorbell wire, add a couple of connectors, say it's deoxygenated depleted uranium and sell them for ten grand a pop. One fool - er, I mean customer - a year and I'll be happy.
Though I must say it appears that something similar has already been done.

I want to refill my 2001 mondy td with fresh coolant.
Would someone be kind enough to explain the procedure to me? For instance where is the engine block drain plug? Has the rad got a drainplug? And recommended make/type of coolant?
Thanks in advance! Read more
If you are buying coolant (as opposed to anti freeze) do not dilute it with any water, its pre mixed.
Going alone the lines of hunting out a decent motor now, having owed my little 899cc Fiat Seicento for the last 5 years and its getting 1 step nearer to the scrap yard.
I do quite a sum of miles a year so will be looking for the following:
* A Diesal
* Pref a model reg after April 01 to take advantage of the lower car tax (my little 899cc costs me £110+ a year in tax!!)
* "MUST" have bosch pumps (for the diesal) as I will be going down the green way of life at home, so would be needed for SVO (Veggie Oil)
* Not fussed about extras - just to get to work and back, Im a single guy so won't need a 5 door beast
* Upto £5k - but lower the better
So any thoughts?

1 How much time is wasted sitting at traffic lights on red, waiting to turn left, with absoloutely nothing going.By allowing movement it will stop pollution and wasting time, it's worked well in the U.S for decades.
2 Traffic lights, for MOST industial sites, turned off at weekend.
3 H.g.v lorries having a disc on their back with approx weight carrying at any one time, so a driver knows his 5ton load, should be able to overtake a 32 ton lorry whilst going up hill, to avoid long tail backs.
4 At scenes of accidents, a camera set up, on the other carriageway to prevent rubber neckers, causing unessary tailbacks, and frequently more collisions.

Hi
I wondered if you guys could help me
I have a rover 214 (1997), today the car seemed to have very high revs (approx 3000) when the clutch was pushed in and this went down when the clutch was released, on further investigation it appears that my accelorator is being kept on (the pedal does not appear to be pushed down any more than normal) as I could drive around the village using gear change only and braking.
is this the cable sticking or some other fault and is it likly to cost me a fortune to get fixed,
thanks guys
Jim
ps excuse the spelling, I have been up since 5.15this morning and need to sleep

I had a similar problem with my 1999 414, 16v recently, when putting the clutch in, the revs raced to 3000 ish rpm.
The plastic throttle body was warped & the butterfly inside was sticking.
Apparently it's a common problem. Look for another throttle body from a scrap yard.
Was reading thr DT Motoring section today and HJ refers to a 'mis-build'.

We owned one - A 206CC with ISOFIX on the Drivers seat instead of the passenger seat - yes the seats were fitted the right way round.
Peugeot wanted to strip down the seats to correct it, as it didn't affect we didn't get it sorted before we traded it. It was a pale blue metallic on an 02 plate.
In our local paper is a report of a man who has been fined for overtaking on double white lines.
In his written defence, apparently, he said the road was safe for overtaking and the car in front was being driven by an elderly female driver who braked a lot.

Funnily enough I got asked this in my driving test back in 1977 ! The correct answer then was it is okay provided you do not cross the white lines during your overtaking manoevre.
Daughter is about to finish her post-grad year. Student (she knows who he is...) in his cups, decided to dance on the top of her immaculate, special edition Proton Sprint. Now has a nice range of dents on the roof - what can be done and will it cost the earth? Obviously she really does not want to claim on her insurance, as a 23 year old. Read more
It reminds me that, maybe 20yrs or so ago, my MIL
bought a Seat Ibiza that had Porsche written across the bottom
of the doors (can't remember why - they'd had some input
on the engine?).
Porsche assisted on the engine i think - was called system porsche.

Mine tank has 345,000 km. Does that count ?
