I have my eye on a Felicia Cube van and wonder if I could convert to a pickup?
Looks like I would need a tailgate and a rear window?
Has anyone done this and would caddy parts fit?
Thanks. Read more
Why do cars have the wing/door mirrors painted? They are usually connected via bits of black plastic and to me it looks daft to have painted bits sticking out. Its also a lot more expensive to replace them after a hit, I can understand door handles are painted as it blends in with the car but mirrors just don't seem right to me.
Anyone else agree with me ? Read more

My Focus suddenly overheated and lost about 3litres of coolant over last weekend. No obvious leaks from hoses.
I topped-up and it appears OK, although I'm having it checked, flushed-out & refilled tomorrow.
I have changed the coolant twice during its lifetime, but not for about 2yrs, so suspect some sludge in the system causing a temporary blockage.
If it's the case, I'm rather surprised it has happened after such a relatively short time.
Any other ideas, please? Read more
Well I took it to my friendly main dealer here in Spain. (About a 20 min m'way drive from my home, with spare water and a hawk eye on the temp gauge! No problems.)
They checked for leaks and attempted to get it to recur, for an hour+, and found...... nothing !
For this they charged me........ nothing!!
Said to keep an eye on coolant temperatures and levels and call 'em if anything went awry.
So the mystery remains unsolved but, for the moment at least, has 'gone away'!
Hi
I have a tax disc holder on my motorbike and I just can't work out how to open it and exchange the tax disc. I haven't ever done it before, and tried everything.
Is there a special way of doing this?
Thanks

It says,on the WD-40 can,'loosens rusted parts'.Make of that what you will.
3 in 1 oil used to say 'free rusted parts'on the can.Once, when buying a can,I said,to the ironmonger,'where are my rusted parts then?'whilst showing him the slogan.Sadly he had no sense of humour,or rusted parts.

I'm getting a 2005 Fiesta next week which comes with a tape deck which I want to replace with a CD. In my previous fiesta the stereo came out easily using U shaped tools and I put in a CD with a wiring harness, this one doesn't look like it will come out the same way.
Quick search on the net didn't yield much except warnings that it's very tricky and involves disconnecting the heater - has anyone done this and is it really as difficult as is being suggested. If so and I decide to pay for the job will somewhere like Halfords charge much more than usual? any help appreciated

I have a 2002 RAV4, in argenta silver, can anyone please tell me what is the name of the bumper colour ( a dark gunmetal). I think that it is the same, whatever colour the main body happens to be.
I had the misfortune of scratching it and would like to order some paint. Read more
I currently use the via michelin navigation package, which works generally quite well, once you have found the address. It seems that you cannot do a full UK postcode search in this software, only a partial, ie the first half of the postcode, search. Does anyone else use this system and does anyone know if there will be an update which will allow the full UK postcode search ? The full postcode search works in most other major European countries, I guess Michelin being French think the UK is too much of a backwater to bother with ! Read more

Hi,
My 1999 saxo has a starting problems, it always starts first time but the majority og the time it takes a good few seconds of turning the key before the engine actually ticks over.
I have replaced all the spark plugs, someone at my work mentioned adjusting the tappets?, anyone got any ideas if this will work or any other ideas?
Thanks. Read more
Measure the resistance of each HT lead they should be about 1500 ohms/330mm. The pin up the centre of the carbon dopped core is prone to corrosion and I often find one or two leads at 50,000 ohms either repair or replace. the set adn the King lead. Regards Peter

How very astute. Unfortunately, half the twerps in this country don't have the mathematics to be able to think this through - one reason for the massive debt levels.
