The EU are pushing for more complex systems in cars.
I have a feeling this is more to promote jobs within the technology industries than help the road user.

Hi, I have a query with my auto wipers in my Mazda6, I find that the wipers will often sweep once when the ignition is first put on even when dry. Is this normal?
Also, even with max sensitivity I find the wipers leave it too late and I have to make a manual sweep, clicking the auto back on gives a few more wipes and then it can "stall" again. Sometimes it does wipe enough.
I did have my windscreen replaced a few months ago and made sure it was an OEM screen (part numbers matched up). The sensor looks ok and the auto headlights work 100% no problem. Is it the cold weather or something? Should I take it to RAC Windscreen to be checked before I visit the dealer?
Not found anyone else with my car on other forums (6 Sport 2005).
Cheers,

Another piece of technology that answers a question that nobody asked and causes grief and aggravation. A 'latent need' according to marketing wonks....
Without prejudice
Definition
The basic meaning is 'without loss of any rights'. It is a term used when two parties are in dispute, and one makes a settlement offer to the other. It puts 'without prejudice' on its offer to make it clear that the settlement offer should not be construed as a waiver of rights. Importantly, communication marked 'without prejudice' cannot be used in evidence in court proceedings if the attempts at settlement fail and the dispute comes to court. Read more

My son is thinking of buying one of these units ( combined camera detector & G.P.S. Navigator) and would appreciate forum views on this unit. Many thanks Read more
SWMBO bought me a new road atlas for Christmas. The price was down from £10.99 to about a fiver. It's incredibly reliable and easy to use and even though I leave it in full view in the car, it hasn't been nicked yet!
Hi, I have a PUG 406 which was fitted with a Citreon Xantia XUD 1900TD engine shortly before I got it. As of today the car will only run roughly, whole engine shacks violently, and the throttle does nothing. It is smoking (BLUE + BLACK), does this mean the FUEL PUMP is the problem? Thx

Er, a lot of dodgy looking back yards complete with new
but trashwd Rovers according to the pix... but that was obviously
propaganda of some weird sort. Bet there are hundreds of those
yards though, literally... Used to go to Birmingham in my corporate
days, oh yeah...
What?
I'm no angel but I support HJ entirely on this stance. Read more

All
just had a panicked phone call from a mate of mine in Germany. Long story short he was phoned in the middle of night (midnight last night) and told he had to back in the UK for an early morning meeting in Birmingham today.
He had been in the bar until about 11:00 last night having a few drinks and set off at 04:30 to catch his re-arranged flight. He was subsequently pulled over for speeding, breathalysed and found to be over the limit.
He was then taken to the local police station and jailed.
He has been told his options are to pay 3k euros or he could be incarcerated for up to 10 days. He has also been told that he cannnot drive in Germany for a year - which will have a major impact on his job. He has about 500 Euros on him but cannot lay access to funds for a few more days.
I've done the obvious and told him to get a brief - any other thoughts.
Thanks in advance Read more

If it's as you describe you can't go wrong with this car, there is enormous demand for good low mileage Micra's. When I recently advertised my immaculate 1996 Micra 1.0 Shape 3 door ( also with 40k miles ) for £1195 the phone didn't stop ringing, got the asking price too. It would be a safe dependable first car.

thanks will look into the above
