  • 2010 Ford Focus 1.8 Petrol - Ford PCM Problems 19 Aug 2014 (Forum)
Trying to put 2010 1.8 Petrol back on road, when i got the car it was missing the ECU (PCM) as had been damaged in crash i got a second-hand replacement 7M51-12A650-VC but are now lost have tried reprogramming using IDS and ELMconfig but filmware just wont write to the PCM in reality its just the VIN. Im think now is teh PCM the right Ford arent that helpful happy to sell me a new one but cant or wont tell me the one that was installed on the car originally. Are all the 7M51-12A650 ECU the same hardware with the VC being the filmware, If so should i be able to reflash the ECU with the lastest filmware for the car.

  • Ford Mondeo - Ford Mondeo 2009 2.0 TDCi Gearbox Syncromesh probl 5 Jan 2014 (Forum)
Hi, I am looking at buying a 2009 Ford Mondeo 2009 2.0 TDCI that appears to have a problem when changing from 2nd to 3rd gear which results in a low level crunch sound as the gear engages. All other gear changes are noise free and if the 2nd to 3rd change is carried out very slowly with care it is possible to avoid the crunching.
  • ford focus - ford focus jumping and loss of power 15 Jun 2013 (Forum)
Hi, I have a Ford Focus 1.6 zetec on a Y plate and has done approximately 150000 miles. Over the past week or so, the car has started to jump on occasion when at low speeds and pulling away. Radio sounds a bit fuzzy when this happens and the speedometer jumps slightly with the 'door open' light flashing up on the dash.
  • Ford Fiesta - Ford fiesta alarm activating 1 Jun 2013 (Forum)
Hello, Hoping for an answer. The alarm on my 53 plate ford fiesta zetec keeps going off randomly. This only happens at night (usually between 0000-0400). I stop it with the remote key (keep it by the bed now!!) when I go down the car refuses to lock using the remote key or by putting the key in the lock.
  • Ford Focus - Problem with ford focus- fuel leak and other issue 23 May 2013 (Forum)
Hi I have a v reg ford focus. I think it has a fuel leak as the petrol warning light is always on even after I've put petrol in. However lately it has developed another problem whereby it cuts out at low revs, and sometimes the speedometer doesn't work and ill be driving along but it's at zero. when first started in morning it starts up easily but seems to struggle to move away as if the petrol isn't getting through.

  • Ford Focus - Ford Focus 2001 1.8 Zetec Steering question 5 Jul 2012 (Forum)
I have recently bought a 2001 Focus 1.8 16v, and I have noticed that when I move the steering wheel just slightly to the left or right from straight, it doesn't straighten itself out and keeps gently veering whichever way, when on the flat. To the more experienced Ford owners out there, it this normal, or should I get something checked (tracking/something else?) Perhaps I have been spoiled by driving VWs for too long but it does seem a little odd. Apologies if this is a niaive question, but I am an Electronics/Software guy, nowhere near a mechanic!

  • Ford Focus - Ford: refusing valid perforation warranty claims 20 Aug 2011 (Forum)
I've noticed that Ford nowadays will do its utmost to avoid accepting claims against the bodywork perforation warranty. (This is in contrast to the situation a few years ago where they tended to accept valid claims without quibbling).

  • Ford Kuga (2008 - ) - Hiring car for a week 20 Feb 2009 (Forum)
I would like to hire a Ford Kuga for a week in May this year. 2 reasons - firstly I need a larger vehicle for my UK holiday and secondly I am considering a Ford Kuga as a company car and I thought hiring 1 for a week woud be a good way of finding out if it really is the right choice for me.
  • How did Ford gain a massive UK share? 8 Feb 2009 (Forum)
I know this share is falling in recent years but somebody has given me a Which guide to cars from 1991 and it states that Ford have 25% of the market (probably not even 10% now). When you consider the awful cars of 1991, the MK3 Fiesta (was ok but no 205), the original pre modified Escort MK5 (the worst car Ford ever made?)
