I have searched but not seen a similar post, so apologies if this is old territory.

I have recently bought a 2001 Focus 1.8 16v, and I have noticed that when I move the steering wheel just slightly to the left or right from straight, it doesn't straighten itself out and keeps gently veering whichever way, when on the flat.

To the more experienced Ford owners out there, it this normal, or should I get something checked (tracking/something else?)

Perhaps I have been spoiled by driving VWs for too long but it does seem a little odd.

Apologies if this is a niaive question, but I am an Electronics/Software guy, nowhere near a mechanic!
