Petrol proof tape 21 May 2005 (Forum)
Is there such stuff? I have a perished petrol pipe and the garage I take the car to is 40 miles away and before I get there it will either a) burst completely b) i'll pass out due to the stench of petrol. I only noticed the petrol smell this morning (had to abandon trip to supermarket and go back home and get another car :-) ) and I can see the pipes around the petrol pump are cracked nastily and the one after the pump has wet marks on the paint below so it must be coming out there when the engine is running. teabelly -

Update on Supermarket fuel 22 May 2006 (Forum)
t deliver to them and all his deliveries were to garages such as Texaco. He would ask one of the supermarket tankers who load out of his depot. He also explained that when given an order number nowadays you punch this into some device at the loading bay and you know that additives are being injected into the fuel tanker by certain coloured lights on a panel which indicates diesel, petrol, grade etc. and additives. -

Citroen or ford? 11 Apr 2003 (Forum)
I've got to turn in my Leon for a large estate. After a look around the local dealers and supermarkets i'm left with the conclusion that a C5 or a Mondeo estate will do the business. 9995 will get me a 2002 petrol car. I'm more interested in reliability and quality than perfomance and kit. Any thoughts or alternatives? -

Fuel prices (again!) 1 Jul 2005 (Forum)
Just noticed that prices near where I live (South Devon) have finally crept above 91p a litre for diesel, even at supermarket stations. I'm accustomed to our prices being roughly 3p/litre cheaper than elsewhere in the country. What price are you paying for petrol / diesel? -
Vauxhall Corsa petrol 1.0 2007 85000 miles - Engine warning light 3 Feb 2015 (Forum)
Is it simply the sensor at fault and can it be ignored? The garage told us that there may be sensitivity to supermarket petrol which has lower additives. Is this true? -
BMW 3-Series E46 (1998 - 2005) - 03 1.9 My 318SE petrol sounds like diesel 24 Apr 2009 (Forum)
Just bought a BMW 318SE Auto petrol from a Car supermarket in west London. When car is idle .. below 1,000 rpm I could hear a kind of clunky or diesel sound coming from the engine. the car does have a full service history. Here is a link to a picture of where I think the sound originates from http://www.flickr.com/photos/opensystems/3469178852/sizes/o/in/set-72157617161300359/ -
Subaru Legacy Engine flat spot 17 Aug 2004 (Forum)
I have a P reg 2.0 litre Subaru Legacy which has developed a 'flat spot' in engine response between 2,000 and 2,500 rpm. As soon as it hits 2,500 rpm you can feel the power come back in. It's a non turbo petrol engine but it almots feels like 'turbo-lag'. I though at first it was caused by cheap supermarket petrol but switching to a proper brand has not helped. Could it be fuel filter, HT leads or...? Thanks. -
