Citroen Xsara 2.0 VTS 13 Nov 2005 (Forum)
I've found an '03 with 7k on the clock from a main dealer for under £6k or an '04 £6.5k. Anyone actually owned or driven one of these? I like the fact that's it reasonably anonymous (in fact ugly) but will it be money well spent? -

Lowpricecars.co.uk - buying online 8 Oct 2013 (Forum)
How do I make sure I dont get my fingers burnt buying online? I am considering buying a C4 from 'newcitroendeals.co.uk', a branch of lowpricecars.co.uk - as with many of these sites it seems very hard to tell if one is simply handing over money to a happy bloke in his back room never to see it again, or actually buying a car at a good price. -

HJ's Jaguar XF 4.2 road test 16 May 2008 (Forum)
No one rich needs to feel guilty about 25 mpg, or nearly. The thing is handsome too although fairly Euro-anonymous. But isn't that knob-controlled transmission similar to something BMW brought out a couple of years ago and that people complained about? -
SORN online to avoid double road tax 5 Mar 2016 (Forum)
I will be buying back my daughters car at end of this month as she's off to OZ for a year. To avoid DVLA charging for an extra months tax, she will SORN on or before the last day of this month and I will buy/tax it on the 1st of next month. -
Has anyone tried an Audew jump starter? 18 Jan 2022 (Forum)
I've been looking for something like this to keep in the boot, and this, with the sale seems to be the cheapest I can find online. I've never heard of Audew but I've googled it and read a couple of positive reviews of this products. Would buying one be a good idea or shoi invest a bit more in a more expensive one? -

Peugeot 306 XLDT 22 Oct 2002 (Forum)
Can anyone identify how to rectify the following:- Starts ok from cold but idles roughly for about 30 seconds if cold or 60 seconds if really cold or has not been used for a while. Once vehicle is driven no problem and idles okay. Also water seems to be comming in to the drivers footwell, about 1/2 inch of standing wayter this morning!, following a downpour. I think it is comming from the outer main seals. The car is 8 years old. How much would a Peugeot dealer charge for renewing both sides and can it be done elsewhere cheaper? -

Mercedes-Benz C-Class - Buying a car not MOT'd for 2 years 8 Jan 2022 (Forum)
Hi all, I've seen a car for sale online with a dealer. It's exactly what we are looking for, in the right colour and with a reasonably low mileage, and a good price. Looks immaculate inside and out, but checking the MOT history out shows it was MOTd in 2018, and then not MOT'd again until 2021. -

Mercedes Benz - 1985 2ltr W123 2ltr Pieburg 175CD carb problem 11 Mar 2009 (Forum)
I took off the rubber side pipe (leads to the air filter) and it was full of petrol, about half a litre. If I turn it over with the hose off, you can see petrol comming thro two bolt holes on the exposed side of the carb. Guessing the diaphragm has gone, but this is a complete guess. Any help appreciated. -
End of the line for the Trooper 2 Feb 2003 (Forum)
This leaves Isuzu UK in an awkward position as none of the US built vehicles are currently offered for sale. Their only official UK product will be the rather dowdy TF pick-up. A company named Doublecabs 'R' us (www.Cab4.com) is moving in to fill the gap left in the UK by the demise of the Trooper by supplying what they call the Evolution - a smart looking pick-up on the outside and an SUV on the inside with leather and auto as options. -

Minimum warranty on used cars 12 Jun 2007 (Forum)
I was just reading HJs column online and came across a post referring to the The Sale and Supply of Goods to Consumers Regulations 2002. This effectively states that used car dealer are legally obliged to provide a six month warranty, and would need to prove that any fault arising within that period didn't exist at the time of sale.
