Citroen Xsara 2.0 VTS

Citroen Xsara 2.0 VTS - PhilDS
Having previously owned a wonderful GTi-6, I gather the Xsara has the same fantastic 167bhp 2.0 engine. I've found an '03 with 7k on the clock from a main dealer for under £6k or an '04 £6.5k.

Anyone actually owned or driven one of these?

I like the fact that's it reasonably anonymous (in fact ugly) but will it be money well spent?

Same as the 6 mechanically as the 6 but with 5 gears and less Kudos and a hell of a lot cheaper (Especially the god awful green/yellow metallic coloured ones)
What's the interior like on them - Are the seats half leather and do they come with Air Con etc ?

Seems good VFM. I would be a bit concerned about the very low mileage. Has it been clocked? Unlikely since it's from a main dealer so history should be A1. Has it done a lot of short journeys? If so, then it could be more worn out than its modest mileage would suggest.

Bargain cars. People wont buy them becuase the 306 looks cooler and more sporty. The Xsara is mechanically the same as the GTi-6 bar the 6 speed box.

Get a prefacelift one, becuase the post facelift ones are ugly. Pay no more than £3k for an X reg.
