Hi. I recently inherited a Volvo C70 convertible. I was reluctant to part with my reliable Carina, so I decided that I'd use the Volvo for six months of the year, then swap over. Adding the Volvo to my existing policy was cheap enough but, the renewal quote for both cars is well over £1,000, (Admiral). Perhaps it is expensive because of my age, (26, and have been driving for 6 years). However, I'd appreciate to know if there are any companies out there who do fairly priced multi-car insurance deals-some of you petrol heads out there must have more than one car! A neighbour sometimes drives our car back from Heathrow and disconnects the battery, then a few weeks later reconnects it to drive back to the longstay pick-up area. Any thoughts on insurance, as the fee for just a couple of hours comprehensive cover on two different days has risen hugely. I wondered if anyone has experience of short term insurance either with their own companies or with separate short term suppliers? Read more
