hi im trying to find out what is causing a ticking rattling sound in idle. it drives fine and has had new cam dephasers, solenoids, cam belt etc, so it's not that. Ive seen this video of a corsa making a similar noise and this was caused by loose swirl flaps inside the inlet manifold. removing the vacume pipe stops the noise. My question is does my inlet manifold have swirl flaps controlled by the ECU ? If so could this cause the noise? Any help would be great.

I’m selling my car while also moving out of my current address at the end of this month. If I notify the DVLA of my change of address so that my V5C can be updated, what happens if my new V5C is delayed or lost in the post? I'm aware DVLA say on their website it is 5 working days, but realistically, how long does does it take to receive the updated document? Is there an option to have it expedited/sent by registered post?
Thanks for the info!
I visit a hospital where parking is often non existent however a few meters away there is a very wide almost deserted road with permit parking only sections 08-10 & 14.00 -16.00, the majority of the road is double yellow lines that do not go onto the kerb.
Can I legally park on the double yellow lines using my Blue Badge? The areas with permit times are sectioned off with white lines.... Read more
Council Carparks that charge for parking are free for BB.
That isn't universal - I find that roughly 50% of council carparks which charge for parking either charge Blue Badge holders the standard rate or offer a concession like 30 mins extra rather than offer free parking for Blue Badge holders....
Hi, I have sold a car on motorway.co.uk to a dealer in Northern Ireland. They are sending a transporter over today and he’s making a few stops, collecting a few cars and getting to me this evening, which is fine.
I’m worried that the online DVLA notification isn’t available after 7pm. Obviosuly I’ll make sure payment is taken prior to them taking the car but should I give them them V5C and then notify online tomorrow morning or should I do it the old way and complete yellow section 4 and keep that and post it
off, rather than doing it online?
Thank you

Hey wonderful people, I'm hoping you can help me. There is nothing wrong per se but the car is making noises that I would love clarity on

Unfortunately, I drove it a bit this morning and it is still making the pumping sound. Oil filler cap comes off without too much work so appears to be fine

He’s “the man”.
I was at a traffic light and it was red, and I didn't notice at first but there was an ambulance behind me with lights flashing but no siren. Now initially I thought I should push forwards past the red light to give room as there was no other space for the ambulance to move forwards. Then I hesitated and thought no I can't do that as I might cause an accident wry cars coming across. I moved off when green, moved to the side to give the ambulance room and it turned on the siren and sped away.
It did make think what is the law here and the right thing to do? I found this here - www.londonambulance.nhs.uk/about-us/what-we-do/adv...e... Read more
If they wanted you to get out of the way they would have switched the sirens on. That they didn't was an indication you were not expected to move over the white line, which as you say, would have been an offence.
Different in Germany, by the way - here, you are expected to move forward enough to allow the emergency vehicle to enter the crossing.
I did think this myself but I have no idea which item to disconnect
