I recently got new brakes and pads all round.

Since the work was done I get an intermittent noise when pulling off after the electronic parking brake has been applied. It does happen all the time. It always when I first roll back off my drive when setting off. And rarely when pulling off on flat roads.

I'd describe this as a momentary frictional sound somewhere between a rub and a clunk. It never used to happen. These are aftermarket brakes possibly Ferodo or Delphi?

Is this normal/acceptable?... Read more

Got it checked while having a brake fluid change. Apparently the rear left is wound a little tighter than the others but there's no restricted movement.

I came across this in my reading of some old files available online.

In the 1960s BL had a dominant UK market share and decent export business. Good designs, albeit fragmented branding.

BMW, VW, Audi had yet to make a mark. Mk 1 Golf was introduced in 1974 to replace an aging Beetle. BMW introduced the first decent car (1602) in 1967, Audi sat behind the iron curtain. Japan had barely finished making Austin A40s based on UK designs. ...

You were right.

The garage put in a Bosch MAF sensor, cleaned the throttle body, and the car was transformed. Goes better than ever. For a 200 Kompressor it is remarkably quick. ...

Am I being blind? I can’t seem to find the owner reviews section on the site anymore. Has it been deleted? Read more

Thanks, I found it by googling it. Weird how I can’t seem to access it from the site. Must be a wee glitch.

Could be the same problem I have ON the review section (which I did raise with the IT bloke some time ago) where my browser (Firefox) cannot open the sub-sections (Good & Bad, etc) for each car review, but MS Edge can, as the link buttons don't work using the former but do with the latter (I prefer using Firefox generally as my browser).

Recently had our car in for service and was given a 22 reg 50 mile old Hyundai i10 N Line turbo as the courtesy car. Only did 20-30 miles or so in it, but some quick thoughts.....

Noisy, too firm riding, not great driving position (not reach adjustment on steering wheel), difficult to get first to second gear change smooth. Engine perhaps a bit OTT for a small city car. But....... Read more

Yes, absolutely a contradiction. But more than what you really need is sometimes rather nice!

Hi all.

Just wondering if anyone can advise me a little in my search for new car. I am quite a tall chap so am after SUV size. I also want an automatic, adaptive cruise control and an in-built satnav (preferably one that doesn't require spending every few months to update). Those are my main 'wants'. The vehicles I have it whittled it down to at the mo are the CX-5, Mokka, Grandland and Tuscon. Something that I am also after is good reliability. I have had nothing but problems with my current car (Peugeot 3008) and have so far had to spend £1500+ to get it to a point where I can sell it because of auto gearbox issues. Price wise I am looking at pcp deals at the mo with a max spend of £350pm and a £7000 deposit. Anything that's between 3_6 years old will do me. If anyone has any insight into the cars listed or any others that may be similar I would appreciate any info. Many thanks. Read more

Hi Guys,

A couple of months ago I purchased a i20 N Line (2021) model with only 400 miles on clock.

I have noticed a annoying rattling / squeaking sound when going over uneven bumps from the left side front passenger door side.

This only seems to occur when the window is fully closed shut, but if I open the window between 1-2 inches the noise is gone? What could this problem? Read more

Thanks, I thought I was the only one. So I own an i30 N-Line. as soon as I drive over a bump, it rattles at the top where the window goes. as soon as I put it down 1 cm it stops. did you find a solution? I have driven 15,000 km
