My Vivaro was gradually losing power today, now struggling to get up hills with pedal almost flat to floor, noticed a couple of white smoke mornings a few weeks ago with smoke disappearing within 10 mins or so. I also had check Anti Pollution System filter flash up on screen, took to my usual garage and was checked and cleared from dashboard but today was the worst! Reading various reports I don't know whether it's the MAF filter, injectors, DPF or Turbo? Has anyone encountered this? If so would appreciate some tips or go to areas to help fix. My Taxi has 186k on the clock and has ALWAYS had a major service every 10k regardless and always maintained regularly. Any help please? Read more
Predictions on a postcard, success, failure, driving characteristics, reliability?
Solid axles front and rear by Italian firm Carraro (who apparently also make axles for tractors), custom ladder frame chassis by German/Spanish company Gestamp (who made the chassis for VW Amarok), proven straight 6 engines from BMW but im informed slightly simplified and with an emphasis on more torque and less HP, ZF 8 speed auto, transfer case by Tremec, seats by Recaro, apparently quite soft spring rates and long travel suspension making for a comfy ride with manageable (autocar described as progressive) body roll, no active dampers, no air suspension, and built in such a way that addresses many of the flaws of the old Defender, including rust which they have really focused on apparently. The body panels are made from aluminium, too.
Starting from £40,000, but I think these are going to be seriously overbuilt in the best way possible. 3.5 tonne towing capacity and 1 tonne payload capacity, whilst the roof can take 150kg.
Power numbers, not finalised:
Petrol 283bhp and 332lb ft of torque
Diesel 250bhp and 369lb ft of torque
Limited top speed 100mph. No idea of fuel economy..

To quote 'This means businesses are missing out on the benefits of diversity as research has shown companies in the top quartile for gender diversity on their executive teams are 21% more likely to experience above average profitability than companies in the lowest quartile.'
So that would suggest that companies that don't have gender diversity are 79% more likely to experience above average profitability than companies in the lowest quartile.????????????

Gibbo, fair point but price differences will vary by size and as offers come and go. For my car today Asda are £11 a tyre dearer than BC for Michelin CCs.
£10 of that is due to the regular £40 discount from BC on Michelins.
On top of that Asda’s nearest fitter is 10 miles away. I didn’t check for an on the driveway price....

Hi all,
Yesterday, during a long drive from Manchester to York, I stopped off at a service station in Leeds to get food, when I set off again, I switched on the windscreen heater & blower due to the adverse weather misting the windscreen, however, without the front vents being switched on, the air was coming out of the front vents and nothing out of the windscreen vents not even the actual windscreen heaters were working either. ... Ukraine. The history of 2 world wars should have taught us something, but it is being repeated for the third time, Putin was compared to Hitler with the brave Ukrainians facing a force where they are outnumbered. Children both born and unborn have been deliberately targeted and yet this cowardly government refuse to commit troops, but talk about lawyers after the event, refusing to answer with a yes or no about us committing troops to the defence of Europe, just like we should have done the first 2 times this happened but did not. The governments idea ! Is that we let the Russians kill innocent children and do nothing to present it from happening, but will robustly bring to boot the guilty after the children are dead, WHAT GOOD IS THAT TO THE CHILDEN, or the relations of the kids, the answer is sod all. We know there is a huge convoy heading there since Sunday, we know that is only half the forces Russia have, and yet we do NOTHING. I am ashamed to be British, and the people who voted the cowardly government in, will have blood on their hands of innocent children, that have and will die in the days to come. Read more
None of us can be sure of what's going on inside Putin's mind but I think going further than Ukraine is not on his Agenda given that his actions so far have achieved the opposite to what he intended. He hoped to split NATO/West, but it's had the opposite effect.
After reading today's reports of the atrocities being perpetrated around Kyiv, I think that it won't take much longer for 'Russia' to be regarded by the rest of the world in much the same way as Nazi Germany or Japan was in 1946. Putin seems not to care if his country becomes a global pariah. Any messages that emerge are either blatant lies or ludicrous excuses. The sooner an internal coup gets to him, the better.
I agree that this type of vehicle is no longer of relevance for the "working vehicle" users, only those who want some show. The US truck style vehicle seems more utilitarian to me.
Before buying a Grenadier, I would want to know if there is any form of warranty backup if (when?) the company folds and the same with any future recall.
