Sorry, only just seen your message. You don't want to lift the whole strip - infact it's extremely well glued down. Just use a long, strong screwdriver and lift the first six inches max from the tailgate end. You will then see the where the inner and outer panels join and usually the mastic has degraded.

You will probably need to weigh the strip down when you stick it back as when you prise it up, the shape will distort slightly.

Isn't the Isuzu warranty for 3 years? So a 2016 car is technically out of warranty?

My question is as following there are many used car inspections service providers these ones I have been recomended from people who have inspected vehicles.

I just would like to see your opinion? There are also clickmechanic who use some mechanics, and some private vehicle checking services around?... Read more

Good of the poster to revive a months old thread to recommend someone. Do they deal in canned pork products too?

Hello, I own a Suzuki S-Cross and I'm having an issue with the boot of the car not opening. This first happened during the recent cold spell we've had. The doors did not open immediately either, so I thought it must be some ice preventing the latch from opening. However, the other doors are now fully operational but the boot still won't open. I have access to the boot from the inside. Does anyome know whether the latch can be opened from the inside and if so how? Also, if this is not a temperature-related issue (as I thought initially), what might be causing the problem? The car has keyless entry. Thanks! Read more

Thanks elekie&a/c doctor. I think I'll have a word with the mechanic tomorrow and see how he proposes to resolve this issue.

Just bad luck, I almost extended the warranty last year but just forgot about it.

Your right about Nissan quality though, never again for me sadly....

I am no fan of hard-riding vehicles, and to be honest, even the current crop of non-sporty models, be it saloons, crossovers, proper 4x4s, all ride much too harshly. The focus is so much on handling, which I do not understand. Even the fabled Hyundai Genesis (mentioned on another thread) apparently had its suspension reworked from the USA spec to UK spec, no doubt ruining what would have been a softer ride although admittedly I have not driven one.

To answer my own question, smoothest riding car I have ever been in was a 1991 Lincoln Town Car. It really did not matter that the rear of the car is on a solid axle, or that it is body on frame (although some argue this actually helps as the insulation between body and frame is greater than unibody), it was like riding on a cloud. From the era where Cadillac and Lincoln were still trying to outdo each other on who could get the softest most cloud-like ride and it shows.

If they sold them in RHD I would be driving one today. Even speed bumps were not felt, it seated 6 people officially but I reckon you could fit 8 comfortably between the two bench seats. If anyone doesn't know what I'm talking about, here is a motorweek review of the 1990 model. Fantastic cars! www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJLB0AU3-pI... Read more

in the Lexus there was near-silence which i think almost gives the illusion of better ride quality.

Interesting comment. Dad had a new Renault 14 in 1978 and compared to our previous family affinity to British cars the ride comfort was incredible (as was the body roll)....

Last year in March, just a little over 10 months ago, after owning a series of four Range Rover Sports, I bought myself a Porsche Cayenne Hybrid. I went for the hybrid technology because I thought it would deliver a lower cost per mile and also in a diesel declining motoring world I thought it would have a better residual value.

It's a fantastic system of my Manual Golf MK7. I only ever fiddle with the handbrake lever if I want to run back a few yards on my sloping drive (won't go into details as to why). I just touch the foot brake pedal and press the lever down and the car will then run away until I apply the footbrake again.

I cannot imagine now owning a car without Auto hold and EPB....

I'm not one for complaining about the subject of parking, but my road has become a centre for neighbourly disputes about the increase in vehicles per property over the past few years. I've only the one vehicle where others have two or three and have seen a few rows brew between households. I just wanted to see what thoughts may be made of the below scenario.

There are eight detached houses in the cul de sac where I live. All were built c1998 with at least a single garage, the biggest houses have a double garage.

The retired 70+ year old divorcee over the road from us, house identical to mine, uses her single garage but compared with its 2010 predecessor her 70reg Audi A3 is a tight fit.
