Hi all,
I have always looked for car lease deals that cost between £250 to £300 a month with minimum initial payment that get me a car costs £38k to £40k to buy. I stumbled across an Audi A6 that fits my criteria by luck. But I wonder if there is any website out there that places heavy emphasise on this kind of value-to-money deals please? In the other words, I hope that a website can show the retail price of the car right next to the monthly rental cost on the, say, "Deal of the weeks" home page so that a quick comparison can be made without the need of clicking through few steps to find out.... Hi all,
I parked in a loading bay one Sunday when it was outside the "loading only" hours. I thought it was ok. Only found out that I was issued a parking ticket when collecting my car.... Read more
Thanks all for the feedback. Probably just pay the discounted rate in this case then. Thanks! ??
"The batteries can be fully charged in five minutes but this would require higher-powered chargers than used today." Too True! An E-Niro has a range of 282 mile range and 80% gives it a range of 225 miles. So, a 100 mile range on a 100kW DC charger will take 24 minutes. To obtain the same charge in 5 minutes would require a 480kW DC charger if the same electrical efficiency was assumed. In other words 2 of these would require close to 1 MegaWatt, and a filling station with 12 "electric filling pumps" would take 5.7 Mega Watts which is equivalent to one mini gas power station I'm not saying its impossible - not so many years ago 100kW chargers and 282 mile range would have been considered to be science fiction... but we are going to need a very large number of wind turbines and solar panels to power the service stations. Most of the impressive high mileage small loss of capacity EV examples cover a short period like 3 or 5 years. I'm saying that time degrades the batteries as much as use and seasonal temperature extremes accelerate the aging.
I'm also referring to existing batteries in cars already on the road. The future always looks better......
Carlos Tavares is not in the habit of "outbursts".
He is a car enthusiast through and through, he is successful and knows what he is talking about, so I see this statement of his as an ice-cold warning rather than an outstretched hand containing a begging bowl....
Thinking about the evolution of crumple zones, side-impact bars etc, I started wondering what effect the large heavy battery of an EV has, compared with a traditional fuelled vehicle where the main mass is nearly always at the front. Is an EV's battery where a fuel tank would normally be - and if so, is it not going to cause chaos if a car meets a stationary object ? Read more
AIUI there are some additional requirements to be met with EVs related to batteries and insulation etc which are clearly not relevant in ICE. Equally in a pure EV, fuel tank rupture would not be an issue.
I assume new EV designs go through crash testing etc in precisely the same way as ICE. The alternative to formal crash testing to agreed standards is to make ill informed guesses....

How about a decorative tow-hitch to go with one's decorative roof bars. The tow-hitch could be made of plastic and attach to the rear bumper by means of an adhesive pad. As a safety precaution, the hitch could be so designed that it instantly detaches from the bumper if anyone attempts to tow even the smallest of trailers.

My Mazda reaches an intereresting stage in ownership this coming march. It will be 3 years old on 11/3 , finish it's 3 yr guarantee, due it's third service at a local dealer 5 miles away( the last in the 3 services paid for up front) with an MOT due at the end of the month. This coincides with a house move to an area that is some distance away from a Mazda dealership. There's more too!....it has only done 3500 miles since march 2020 when it had its 2nd service and with lockdown 3 I am only doing 6 miles a week mileage and as we all know, am being discouraged from being mobile and visiting anything non essential .

That Mazda won’t have any defects after 3 years, so have your MOT at any reputable garage and you’re safe. Those cars are bullet proof, now more than ever.
Hello, my car has developed 2 faults, I cannot seem to find if a couple of faults I have are failures for a MOT, so I wondered if anyone could help with the answer, please.
