Hello, can someone please help me, I have a Punto 1.9JTD HGT 2003 which it had 15 inch alloy wheels but I noticed a hair line cracked on one of my alloy it must be the potholes it damaged, I want to change all into steel wheel, the size that I required is 15 inch with 6.0j x ET33 with PCD of 98mm x 4 stud but they don't sell with ET33 but only ET35. Would this fit with no problem and I don't really understand what ET is mean? is something do with width of center hub?

Yes bore size is very important, some aftemarket alloys are made with a typical spigot size for the mopst common fitments and they supply adaptor rings so the spigot is a snug fit on the hub for smaller hubs, if you ever have these types of wheels with adaptors be most careful when removing a wheel that the ring doesn't fall off and get lost, without the correct rings you will not get the wheel central on the hub and an eccentric wheel is not a pleasant experience.

Guys - wanted to get your thoughts on cars. I have mostly been a BMW- have a 7 series lease now that is ending soon. I realized that I don’t put a lot of miles of my car so am thinking of buying my next one - keep it for about 8 years.

It's a very sad day when you look at a small hatchback and say "£27,000 is competitive".

Competitive in EV terms (for the base model with 205 mile range), but still a huge amount of money, even when our tax money is used to add a further discount. Read more

Isn't this what smart meters are for? Distinguishing between electricity for the house and the car and being charged different rates.

That's my thoughts exactly - and it's why my energy supplier is relentlessly chasing me night and day to have one fitted....

According to the Suzuki web site, they are not now selling the 1.0 litre turbo Swift.

Does anyone know why? I thought the future was smaller turbo engines.... Read more

A number of manufacturers are set to offer 7 seater options or vehicles in the next 24 months; there is increased demand for people carriers.
People having larger families?
People not owning cars but wanting to be able to give friends and family members a lift?

The latter is more common from a small sample of Anglia.
A Family have gone with a grand scenic to be able to take the grandparents on holiday as they no longer own a car.

Today, took my Toyota to local dealership to check an engine problem.

Hello,

I have coolant leak in my Nissan xtrail t32. In around 500km coolant is going from Max to Min which is around 250ml. System was pressure tested and there was no visible leaks however there is some staining around water pump so I presume it's the source of the leak.... Read more

I know this is an old post, but here is my experience.
I have just spent half a day replacing the water pump on my X-trail Tekna t32 2017 1.6dci. I did it without removing the engine. I have unscrewed the pulley bolts and pump bolts, bear in mind the pulley doesn’t just slide out. I had to play with the pulley until it came off then the pump followed. Imagine one of those 3D steel puzzles, which requires a specific position to take it apart, it was just like that.
To fit it back in, after two hours of fiddling and failing to line up the pump with the pulley to allow to squeeze them into their position, I had to loosen the engine mounts and pry open a gap between the engine then I squeezed the pulley onto the pump mounts.
Here is the issue, the pump is inserted into the engine by approximately 1.5”, but you only get less than 1” space between the pump and the chassis.
Filling up the coolant was easy just had to run the engine hot with the heater on, and topping up the coolant tank.
Thank you Nissan engineers, your design has made yet another simple task unnecessarily difficult. A little bit more space between the chassis and the engine for a mechanic to put his hands in would be welcome.

Had a stainless exhaust custom made and fitted to the Subaru today, OE system was 12 years old and developed a slight leak from the flange gasket between the two main sections, whilst attempting to replace this gasket it soon became apparent the two sections were past their best as the welds on the sections either side started to crack up.

Knowing the dealer cost of a new exhaust for our previous Subaru ( a cool grand) i didn't even bother ringing Subaru, so once again drove up to the fine people that run MIJ exhausts at Walsall, who in just under 3 hours made an excellent stainless system and fitted it, all for just under £300 with a lifetime guarantee, which is exactly £50 cheaper than the typical factor supplied and fitted mild steel system would have cost, and that would have been the wrong system anyway because they try to pass off the smaller bore system of the 2.0 litre NA engine as being suitable for the turbocharged XT, it isn't....
