For safety reasons, I thought there was a limit on the ages of cars that can run on the circuit, after Sir Jack Brabham's serious accident in an F1 car some years ago. I think I read that only cars built up to 1966 (when the circuit closed) could take part in competition now? Read more

I always feel a lot of stress before a session because of the huge amount of tasks. This planner essaypro.com/homework-planner helped me to divide my studies into parts and gradually prepare for the exams. It allows me to clearly see my progress and gives me a sense of control over the situation. Now I worry less, and my studies have become much more effective!

I am asking a question on behalf of a friend. Pressing the open button on the remote opens all doors except the hatch. There is a separate button on the remote for opening the hatch and this works. Has anyone any idea what is wrong, please? Read more

Can anyone help. I got caught speeding on the 6th of March. I had 9 points. So this will take me to 12 points. I’m still awaiting a decision on my license whether I keep it or lose it. Been 4 month so been driving in the mean time. Today I discovered that I’ve been caught going through a red light. So another 3 points. What is likely to happen? Read more

Thank you for your help you have answered the questions I was asking, I wondered if I would be in court twice. Thank you for your reply.

Warning

I was planning of selling an 2002 Japanese car. 80,000 miles.

However, due to lockdown missed my chance.

My MOT was due, took it to regular garage who told me informally it needs £350 worth of repair inc MOT. The battery is zero. Can't recharge it. Light don't come on.

When it does fire up by jump starting the engine sounds great. The garage mechanic said it is n't a write off.... Read more

Are you getting rid because of the repair cost, or because you no longer need a car ? If the latter, do as advised; if the former, get the work done and keep it running - it'll cost a good deal more to replace it.

The last "comment, driver clips kerb" cannot be taken seriously as we only have his take on the four police vehicle saga. However, Honest Johns report on the unbelievable shortage of traffic police in some counties, beggars belief, and I and many others hope that your newspaper will hold those police area commanders to task. Individual readers of this depressing report have no chance of bending the ear of our government but the Telegraph a Tory newspaper can move mountains to shame our present leaders to give your readers some feasible excuse for inexcusable policing. I imagine COVID 19 will be the excuse for every failing but Honest John, we challenge you to help our country as well and report on its failings.

Yet another mega-expensive white elephant.

Not that I'm against EVs - but how many families can afford to part with £40k just for a car? And one that will lose money fast, especially as EV technology advances.

And before anyone says 'buy it on finance' then the manufacturers have already brainwashed you into accepting their ridiculous pricing - for EVs and ICE cars.

I'll convert my car to run on chip fat before I'm forced into a finance deal on a hugely overpriced EV when they stop selling fossil fuels. Read more

The EV market is a classic chicken and egg scenario. Prices will not fall until the economies of scale (i.e. increased sales) bring the benefits of mass production, but mass market sales will not happen until prices fall.

Meanwhile I will keep my petrol car, which covers less than 5000 miles per annum. One thing I have learned in over 50 years driving is never to be among the first to invest in new technology.

gavsmit

Haven't most people been saying this for years?

Why invest in dealing with wannabe terrorists, gang stabbings / shootings, 'protestors' looting and destroying for any old excuse, really bad drivers that tailgate / wander across lanes / exhibit road rage when you can catch usually law-abiding tax payers doing 45 in a 40 who were concentrating more on the road than their speedo?

They don't even catch the huge number of lovely people driving around with cloned number plates and speeding either - even when it's obvious as they are driving like loons in and around other people that are forced to obey the limits, thus making an even more dangerous situation. Read more

As has been said, everyone knows this to (largely), be a money spinning racket dressed up as "casualty prevention", the name thus applied to disguise the true purpose of many such camera installations. Gavsmit at the start of this thread has this whole charade nailed IMHO.

These camera's are re-callibrated annually, with a certificate of said recallibration being shoved up your nose if you get "cought" when the "evidence" drops through the letterbox, as recently happened to my wife.

If such re-calibration is done, and it transpires when carried out that the camera concerned is found to be "out", how do they know WHEN it became inacurate?

Leaving aside the nonsense of some of the convictions derived from this palava, how many motorists have been fined and had points on their licence from inacurate camera's to which they have no recourse, and conversely, how many "got away with it"?

"Prices are expected to start at £60,000". I bet they'll be more than that, despite £60,000 already being an obscene amount of money for this kind of car.

Do you notice how much is being made of all the in-car tech with EVs too? I suspect as EVs are forced onto people (via long-term zero-value finance packages as they are far too expensive to buy outright) what will make trim levels different will be the amount of tech to have in the car (i.e. the absence of different ICE engine options removing that particular revenue stream for manufacturers).

I don't want all that tech rubbish that I'm not interested in and will never use. If someone made a stripped-out EV that's just a motor, battery and essential kit like a heater I'd be happy - but then they wouldn't have the perceived "justification" for artificially huge prices, bolstered by the inclusion of cheaply designed / poorly tested / shabbily manufactured / unreliable / fashionable 'tech'.

Yuck - even the slang word 'tech' makes me cringe. Read more
