First off, I am extremely embarrassed and feel like an idiot about this. I have no idea how to fix this and would appreciate any help on this matter.

In May 2018, I bought a used car from a dealer- paid via bank transfer. During the handover, I was given the V5C2/3/4 document and was told to use that to tax the car. I did that and have been paying taxes on the car ever since. I also obviously have been paying for insurance as well. However, I misread the V5C2/3/4 slip and forgot to send it off to DVLA. We recently moved houses and I realised that I was meant to send this form off 2 years ago...... Read more

Presumably you taxed the car so you need to fill in the purchase date

Hi All,

First time posting here - please be gentle! I have relatively happily owned my HR-V for 18 months, buying approved used from a dealer on the south coast. Come lockdown it sat on the drive for 3 months, from the end of the extended warranty until I drove it down for its annual service and MOT at the end of June. I advised dealer Air Con wasn't working, although it had been when I drove it before, in Feburary. A bit of investigation later and now I am faced with a £2243.11 bill that has been reduced by 60% to £897.24 as apparently at some point in the 10 miles I drove from the point of expiry of the extended warranty to the dealership, the compressor, clutch, stator and filter sub assembly all wrote themselves off. ... Perhaps a report from an independent expert would give some clue on how to proceed. I don't know what a report would cost, but if it proves your case you could be better off. If the expert agrees with Honda/Dealer then you are stuck. The legal remedy is not for the faint hearted so look at all other means to resolve the problem. I do know that not using the A/C system for some time causes problems with seals and gaskets shrinking and losing gas, but presumably this was the fist thing they looked at. Good luck and let us know what transpires.

Cheers Concrete

Hi, looking to upgrade my 2009 Toyota Auris. Apart from the several recalls it's had I've been pleased with it.

Buying new. Looking for petrol & preferably manual. I've test driven Nissan Juke & Qashqai, Toyota C-HR. There's a big difference in price & the Nissan dealer has a good promotion at the moment, but concerned about reviews & past issues.... Read more

Although not really an SUV my friend has a Kia Niro, Him & his wife are both tall & find it comfortable....

Hey hoping someone can advise. I’m looking to get an S Max (I’m becoming a childminder and it ticks all the boxes). The choice is to go to an independent dealer and part ex my current car and use a no interest credit card to purchase an older model (2010 being max age) with reasonably high mileage or go to a Ford Dealer and get a newer one on finance.
I can’t work out if the interest id be paying on finance is worth the added security which will come from having a newer car, with less miles from a main dealership Compared to getting an older model which I own outright. I’m presuming a ford approved used car is a safer bet but is it worth the £3000+ interest Hope that makes sense Read more

Tread very carefully with independent dealers Don’t believe a word they say, always check the vehicle and paperwork

Don't believe what any dealer tells you.

Its been said on here many times before but its worth repeating the 3 golden rules of used car buying:...

Yes, it was the R. The owner got a very good deal on one when it was new. Expect a petrol to handle better, that's provided the engine is lighter.

Agree it felt cramped. Great place to sit for 20 minutes or so, if you don't have to drive it....

I have received a penalty charge notice for £100.00 (£60.50) if paid early, the car park was at a local supermarket, all the disabled bays were taken, so according to the blue badge rules one can park in parent and child, in this instance, this is what I did.

There was a person hovering round, presume he worked for the company who administer the parking, he never said anything just kept menacing other motorists and myself.... Read more

Very wise words there Concrete. Ideally a well put together bundle of evidence and documentary exhibits in chronological order goes a long way to giving you the upper hand.

Does anyone know of a website where you can enter what features you would like on a car and it would list the makes and models with those features.
I'm talking of things like power folding mirrors, heated seats, reversing camera, heated steering wheel etc.
I know that sites like autotrader can give you options of engine size, fuel type and gearbox etc but I am trying to find somewhere that lists all of the features on a car including optional extras and then lists all of the makes and models that have those features?
Hope someone can help?

Reliability, comfort, (wanted the 16" wheels option with sensible tyre sizes) Air con., DAB radio, ride height for seating position. "Feels" solid!...

A good friend of mine who is an NHS key worker has had his Landrover Discovery Sport stolen from his driveway 4 days back.
The tracker showed the location as being taken 2 miles away from his house and we went on the same night (and the police came at the same time)and scoured the area on the same night, but no car.

He had paid for the tracker subscription until December 2020 yet on calling Landrover on the night and the next morning, they were of no help.
We have been going around the area(London) for the last 3 days in the hope that it may be left abandoned ,but no luck so far.... Read more

This article is not more than just a joke. There is no reference to the update provided by VW, therefore I consider the statement as being not true and just a VW friendly article. Journalists, do not stop by publishing declarations and statements of companies. You needs to go further and ask for proof. I was expecting a link to a Service campaign proof with public statement and a service campaign number.
Without it I believe VW just paid you to publish this.
