I have a failed dipped nearside headlight. AA could not fix. Nothing wrong with bulb at all. Spent an hour with the electrics but came up with the need for BMW diagnostics. BMW Sytner want £150 just to look at ithe problem. Any ideas? I object to paying £150 with no guarantee of success.

After three years and 21,000 miles her Juke Tekna 1.6CVT is going back to the lease company.
Its had a hard life. Driven almost exclusively by my wife who has little mechanical sympathy, average journey length has probably been less than three miles (on engine start - stop basis) and three children plus a little dog. ... Read more
"Did she try a Renegade?"
Yes and liked it. We thought it a very strong contender until the Evoque deal came along and blew it out of the market. However coming out of the Juke we were surprised by the price of the car and the specification (or lack of it). Even compared to the current Juke range the Renegade is expensive and less well made. It is a little larger, but not that much as to make the difference in price....
For years these have been coming through our letter box at a rate of two or three a week. Now it is down to two or three a month. Is this because of the general downturn in things generally such as output in China?
Before anyone asks "Aren't two or three a month enough for you?", the answer is "Yes". It is simply a subject in which I am very interested. Read more

We're hugely grateful to you, Galaxy, for taking the time to help. I did ask HJ whether there was a confidentiality issue and he didn't think there was a problem since as you say the information can be found online.
I've never quite understood why 99% of the code requests are about Fords!...
Hi There,
The injector four has gone on my Ford Fiesta Zetec 2004. My Mechanic can put a new part in but wouldn't be delivered for a week or a local supplier has a second hand complete rail ready to go. The new part is actually a tad cheaper but it's only one injector (but that's all that needs replacing)... Read more

Are you able to answer my question Avant ? About the pros and cons of transverse mounted engines over north south ?
Audi north/south and front wheel drive combo is not the best of ideas. It forces the engine to be further forward (forward of the front wheel) than other conventions and that I turn results in a bad weight distro. Driving wise that can rock and loose traction. Later car with shorter gearbox or 4WD are much improved.

Regretably,in common with most modern cars,it ain't that simple. The lights are controlled electronically by the body/footwell module. There are no fuses for the lighting circuit.Yes,it would be possible to spur off the other light, but i am not too sure how that would upset the bulb failure warning system. It would be nice to see a reply from my first post/response.
