Hi everybody,

Remote central locking very seldom works for any length of time . I have three keys as the dealer intially suggested it was a key problem. Into dealer who 'lubricated something'. Next time a part was replaced but the problem is still there. Car is 2014 model and under warranty. Any ideas ? Read more

Try a different dealer. The one you have used is clearly a totral muppet.
I have a slight leak from a steel tube at the rear of the engine. I haven't been able to identify the part in order to make a replacement. Does anyone have any advise on locating the part and also any likely problems I will incur when making the swap Read more
Try find a garage equipped with a coolant pressure tester.
As it's name suggests you pump up the coolant via the header tank until a set pressure and well basically the coolant wizzes out from the weak spot....
This car has two occasional seats that fold down into a recess behind the rear seats. After driving in heavy rain the recess fill with water. Mitsubishi can't help. Has anyone had this problem and found the cause? Read more

What has it cost to erect roadside gantries to display the cost of fuel at the motorway service stations? Who has to take on fuel at a motorway service station?
Surely a waste of money. Fix the motorway potholes, but then that is a different budget. Read more
Who says its the taxpayer who's paying for this (see my earlier post)? I would object if the taxpayer is funding these gantries (i.e. not through higher fuel prices at the services), but to be honest, if people are dumb enough not to realise that motorway service station fuel prices aren't astronomical and don't bother to fill up beforehand/find cheaper filling stations (it ain't exactly difficult these days, as I said before), then they deserve to pay such prices.
I feel that Stop/start is a safety hazard in my A1 Sportback S-tronic. There can be a significant delay, foot of the brake, nudge accelerator and then wait for the engine to start. I have tried to get into the habit of turning this feature off when I first get into the car but I would rather not have to.

Whilst not a lorry driver by trade,I did hold a Class 1;the longer the trailer, the easier it is to reverse;things happen much more slowly when the trailer wheels are right at the back.
VW continue with the transverse format whilst Audi prefer N/S.
But are the benefits of equal length drive shafts overplayed ? And does North South make changing cambelts more complex. And alter the balance of the car?... Read more
Thanks for the useful information.
Seems that the N/S FWD configuration is an ideal compromise between RW and FWD features. Would you agree? And do manufacturers only fit to premium models because of the cost?...
Having just paid close to £1700 for a new ECU and throttle box I drove the car away from the garage yesterday and ... !
After a couple of miles there was a wining noise which increased as I accelerated and decreased as I took my foot off the accelerator peddle.... Read more

My son lives in Sheffield, I live in Kent. He knows nothing about cars. He bought a 2002 Clio 1.4 petrol saloon. He had some trouble starting it but now the battery is flat. Not a glimmer from it. The car has stood immobile now for 3 months. I am coming to visit and he wants me to bring some tools and a new battery..
I am wondering if I replace the battery and the fault is elsewhere the new battery will simply drain. Has anyone any ideas of any particular fault with Renault clio's or could it be just an old battery worn out by age and recent overuse for starting problems. Comments please a sap because I am setting off in an hour. Cheers Concrete Read more
Hello everyone, thanks for all the contributions. All the checks were done and the battery replaced and the car is up and running again.
Thank you all, especially elekiea/cdoctor so we could source the right tools....

Take a look in the passenger footwell area under the glovebox. Here is located the cabin relay/fusebox.Clipped to the bottom of this are 2 or 3 multipin connector blocks. You may find that the locking bars have come loose causing a poor connection to the fusebox.Worth a look.
