Hi
I bought the 2014 Santa as a demonstrator 2013 I know thats daft but thats what they called , for six months no problems but then the MPG avg gauge would do all sorts of strange things. It woud slowly drop from 41 down to 34 ish and then crash to zero before starting to build back up as it did it went past 40 and continued up to as high as 65mpg,before dropping back to 41 and then repeating the process . It could happen after 10 miles or a 200 .... Read more
It`ll be interesting to hear what they do about it....
After almost 4.5 years ownership, close to 50,000 miles, 47,000 of these in my ownership, yesterday was time to say goodbye to the B class.
The car covered the miles effortlessly and never let me down and drove as well as day one. However recently some items were starting to fail and boredom was setting in – I seem to have a habit of trading at about 50,000 miles. It was time to take advantage of what is still a decent residual and look for something else. So what to change it for?... Read more
Yes i've seen too many Diesel Legacy/Outbacks for sale with not particularly high mileage with knocking or otherwise faulty engines.
Not one of Subaru's best IMO, why they made it so small @ 2.0 litre i don't know, Dieseling the 2.5 or even the 3.0L H6 then lightly blowing it would have produced an easy running frugal and long lived oil burner i suspect.

Thanks, that's very helpful.
Disconnected battery to remove airbox, battery and shelf to look at connection at ABS unit (trying to resolve another problem) and whilst I had room cleaned and replaced all earth contacts. Refitted everything and reconnected battery and now have no power steering, red warning light showing. I believe this has an electro-mechanical system. I am very sure that the earth points were put back as found and tightened. The live fuse is OK. Cannot get to garage for diagnostic scan as steering too hard to drive safely (pensioner). On top of existing problems (ESP) this car is turning into a nightmare. Would appreciate any help/advise. Read more
I have had batteries disconnected from loads of Vag models with epas ,never had one fail completely .Often when they do fail, the steering only works on limited assistance.Have you tried to reconfigure any settings in the epas prior to battery disconnection?? I would get it on the diag system to see what is happening.

Well it seems that the first broken engine mount was just 'one of those things!", however Skoda Tech is investigating this as it is an unusual occurrence.

I will be transferring ownership of my daughters car to myself in a couple of months when she emigrates. If its done on the last day of the month, she gets refunded the remaining months but do I pay an extra month because its still the last day? Alternatively if its done on the 1st of the month does she lose a months refund?
Very confusing. Read more
Send off V5C on last day of the month; get new VED on 1st day of following month.
That way you don't pay twice....
I have a 2005 Toyota Land Cruiser that I have owned since new (10 years and 126,000 miles). It has been seviced exclusively at a Toyota dealer. It has recently developed a problem - intermitent steering wheel vibration at 65+mph. I have had the wheels balanced and also swapped them back and front but the problem persists AND is intermitent - one day the steering wheel vibrates, exactly as if the wheels need balancing, and the next day it doesn't - even over the same stretch of road. Any ideas please? Read more

Wickes source from another comoany whose name escapes me. IKEA are said to be very good value, not fancy, but for the price good, and if well fitted you will, have a nice you know what The problem is most probably the fitters. If you get Homebase to fit, they subcontract out, pay 10p to the fitter, and keep £5,000. Not surprisingly the fitter does not really care. I have an Optiplan k******, and paid the fitter directly a decent amount, so he earns more than me! The fitting was very good. So to get a good you know what, find a good fitter, then get him to install it. A trade account at Howdens will get a huge discount.
Personally I think a k****** is so important I would never deal with a charlatan such as Vance. I once had cowboy bathroom installers, it can get expensive!
