I wonder if we will ever get idiot proof pump nozzles and fillers on cars to prevent this problem.

I understand you already do if you buy a Ford. Possibly other makes too....

My 2007 Picasso has done 120,000 miles. Every couple of months there is a problem with the oil. The mechanic says that due to the injectors possibly being faulty the oil container gets blocked and he needs to drain it and pour down some chemicals to unblock it each time. He says if the injectors are checked, and the faulty ones replaced, it should solve the problem.

I'd ask this question on frenchcarforum.com - there's a good chance you'll reach more Picasso owners. What you're being told doesn't sound right to me either.

I have a 2007 Saab 9-5 Aero whose rear parking sensors only seem to work in warmer weather. In the winter, I get a dashboard message and an audible beep to inform me theyre not working. Rather than have a worshop take the whole rear bumper assembly apart, I'm wondering if I could cure it by spraying WD40 or antifreeze into the sensors myself from the outside? Any thoughts? Don' think so.The sensors are a sealed unit with no access to the internal workings.Make sure the face of the sensors are clean with no peeling paint.A simple test of the sensors is to select reverse with key on-engine off ,and put your ear on each sensor in turn.A working sensor will emit a very faint clicking.

Hi all,

I am in the market for a hatchback and have decided to go for a Seat Leon because it offers a good balance of tech, interior, exterior and standard goodies they come with with regards to FR models.

I have a couple of questions regarding which car I should go for... I have managed to negotiate a price of £22,500 for 5dr 2.0TDi 184PS FR with Tech Pack and £1,525 addons. I have also negotiated a price of £20,500 for the 5dr 1.4ECo 150PS FR with Teck Pack and £1525 options.

I will be the main user and doing quite a lot of short journeys but my dad will be using the car to do longer journeys. Buying the car on 0% 3yr PCP finance, the GMFV of the TDi at the end of 3yrs will be £10,100 roughly and GMFV of 1.4eco is around £8700 both on a 10k/year mileage basis respectively.

I am geeky so I worked out the difference will be £544.83 with regards to the total payable over 3yrs. I can save a further £894 on the TDi and £1198 on the 1.4 respectively if I went through drivethedeal.com but essentially that means a difference of £304 overall with regards to total payable over 3yrs.

So based on this long winded post, I have a couple of questions and seek some advice. Any contribution would be appreciated.

Q1. Is this deal worth it? i.e is it worth buying brand new?
Q2. Which is better 1.4 or TDi?
Q3. Can I trust www.drivethedeal.com?
Q4. Is there a better hatchback with similar mod/cons and looks?

Please help ASAP I need to make up my mind by end of June.
Thanks in Advance

Video shows alleged assault on woman who filmed bus apparently going through red traffic light in Waterloo, central London.

Reading this in the news and the shocking footage on TV, makes me think about our ordinary bus drivers here in Colchester who regularly (and i am on the buses) go through lights when there is room to stop, and also stopping in the box junctions having sailed close to the wind when going through lights.... It's time our politicians addressed the almost impossible task of simplifying the statute book, which has more impossible-to-enforce laws added to it every year. No wonder the cops can't keep up with all the offences we expect people not to commit.

Agreed! Lane hogging, wrong lane etc. is almost impossible for the police to monitor. What is needed of course is more marked and unmarked traffic cops. Only yesterday I witnessed a delivery driver taking a mini roundabout on comletely the wrong side. Just think how many milliseconds he saved risking public safety!...

Pretty sure that a 2003/2004 1.9 will have Bosch solenoid injectors. In fact I'm sure all the 1.9 tdi 8 valve heads have Bosch solenoids. The Siemens piezo units, as far as I can remember, were fitted onto the 16 valve 2.0 tdi PD versions
