I have a Fiat Stilo Abarth with driving wheel on the left (I live in Valencia, Spain). The car is great but for the automatic gearbox which my local official Fiat garage does not know how to fix.

Hi all... Parked up my Focus yesterday ...went back to it an hour later and she will turn over but will not start up? We have changed the glow plugs... The battery is fine .... There is diesel coming out of the injectors.... We have read that we may need to change the Crankshaft Sensor but where is is it? Any advice hugely appreciated.....Kev Read more
Diesel injector operation is based on a crank angle signal so if you have diesel coming out of the pintles your CAS is working.

I've was in my car yesterday and all of a sudden I had my foot to the floor and ther was no power behind it, I have to be in 3rd gear to even reach 30mph the maximum I can get to with a struggle is 50mph in 5th gear my car used to be very powerful and now it feels like I'm driving against gale force winds and getting nowhere, there's no warning lights on my dashboard, I've got oil and water topped up, I really can't afford to take it to a garage to be charged just to tell me what's wrong so I thought someone might be able to give me some options on here to figure out the problem

Could be that your turbo is faulty & letting oil pass into the exhaust.
Check if the turbo impellor is spinning freely & there is not too much play in the shaft....
For the first time in 40yrs I have just spent a day as a typical commuter on roads linking two ordinary English township areas (Northampton - approx 1/4 million, Wisbech/Kings Lynn approx 100,000, starting just before 7am and returning just after 5pm. Never again.

That was how the VW Golf came to be such a success in the 1970s, and has never looked back. It was almost as reliable as the Beetle, and (at least the bigger-engined versions) as good to drive as anything else that size. And it was less prone to rust.
It was also a hatchback, which the Austin Allegro, successor to the 1100/1300, should have ben but wasn't: and of course the Allegro managed to be both unreliable and unremarkable to drive.
I have an intermittent fault which allows me to start the car but it stops again almost immediately. Sometimes I can clear it by disconnecting and reconnecting the battery and sometimes it clears itself if I leave it overnight. Any ideas? Read more
Don't have another key. Dashboard symbols flash up and go too quickly to see which ones. Maybe an airbag light!
