Renault Clio 1.5dci 07plate - Loss of power - Jod1383
I've was in my car yesterday and all of a sudden I had my foot to the floor and ther was no power behind it, I have to be in 3rd gear to even reach 30mph the maximum I can get to with a struggle is 50mph in 5th gear my car used to be very powerful and now it feels like I'm driving against gale force winds and getting nowhere, there's no warning lights on my dashboard, I've got oil and water topped up, I really can't afford to take it to a garage to be charged just to tell me what's wrong so I thought someone might be able to give me some options on here to figure out the problem

Replace the diesel fuel filter.

Do u think that's defiantly the problem? The diesel fuel filter? X

Who knows?You asked for an option,that's one of them.I very much doubt anyone can diagnose this fault without looking at the car.Filter is the cheapest option to start with.

** update there's also white smoke coming out from the exhaust when I put foot on accelerator

Could be that your turbo is faulty & letting oil pass into the exhaust.

Check if the turbo impellor is spinning freely & there is not too much play in the shaft.

Check your oil level first.
