Hi there, about 6 month ago I was having problems starting my vehicle, not turning over quick enough to fire but would start instantly with a jump start so I replaced the battery. When I took it to get the engine management light reset the code was P0087 so I replaced the fuel filter and put a diesel cleaner through it and no problems until 2 weeks ago when symtoms returned ie needing jump to start the car and the fault code is the same, done same as before and great for 3 days then car went into limp mode started again to go out and has been running great again (but engine man light still on ) but had to jump start any suggestions on what I can do now,
cheers, Andy.......... Read more
P0087 is fuel pressure low. Coupled with the symptoms you describe, the fault could be a poor connection between the battery and the starter motor, or the starter motor itself could faulty, or a bad engine earth. You could also have a worn fuel pump, excessive fuel leak off, faulty fuel pressure regulator, or air ingress into the fuel system due to perished fuel pipe or leaking connection or the fuel filter may not be air tight. Another possible cause could be a faulty fuel pressure sensor. These aren't easy to check because you cannot simulate the pressure that exists in the common rail in order to check the sensor operation. You may be requiring the services of a good diesel specialist.

A good start would be to peruse HJ's reviews above, then have a poke nose on Renault forums.
Renault will have to go some to match the disappointment of many owners of supposed superior German cars, and their bitter experiences of the uncaring makers and dealers of such things....

I was coming up to a set of traffic lights between 20-30mph and there was a traffic camera. I wasn't close to the line nor far behind and when it changed I slammed on the brakes hard to a complete stop.
Did I ruin the brakes by slamming to a complete halt? Read more
Wolfan, I expect the OP is too small in this regard. Oh for an ignore button on this forum.
Hi All
With the frosty weather I've noticed that only one of our Swift's mirrors is warming up. There's only only fuse for both mirrors and the electrical mirror position adjustment works on both.
Any ideas what it might be please or where I should take it to be looked at?
It's just out of warranty.
Thanks. Read more
Not sure about this car ,but on most vehicles the glass just clips onto the electric adjustment mechanism.Use a tool similar to a putty knife to prise the glass off.
Power Steering works ok when car is started up but after approx. 10 mins it becomes very stiff. What could be the issue and how could this be rectified? Thanks Read more
Looked at that website- if that company can do a repair in 2hours on a fixed price, why can't the dealers?

>>One key point to him was the remaining three years of the five year warranty.
I looked at a 2-year-old, 40K mile Toyota at a main dealer that had no history of ever being serviced....
