That's quite common with the PD130s, over the years I've seen a lot of dyno plots of standard engines and they usually state 140-ish bhp at the flywheel.

I also remember a hub dyno plot (which measures actual bhp at the wheel) on a standard Fabia vRS which gave 134bhp ... and that's after transmission losses etc....

Hello there

I drove my parents Astra some months ago and was completely blown away with how far cars have come along, However I found the indicators very annoying as it was very easy to start indicating right when you have cancelled left, I have also noticed other Astra drivers doing the same, is this something that will be fixed or do you live with it, Also does this car have a timming belt or chain, I read somehwere that all Mark 5 Astras will be chain driven. If you lightly tap the indicator stalk in the same direction that you're indicating (ie, to make it only flash 3 times) that will cancel it without the risk of putting the opposite side on.

I was roaming around the internet - as you do when you have really relaxed (5yrs) into retirement - all is relaxed and time flows slowly in the golden heat of Summer.

Actually, it took around 3yrs to really wind down and let the mental processes slow to the rythm of nature - and the pen hand to relax. (or wither from lack of use ha ha )... Read more

I bought a brand new 200 in March 2010 and have been very disappointed by its tendency to "kangaroo" from cold starts at low revs. Apart from anything else it is a safety issue at junctions. On going to my dealer they suggested that it was a common fault that could be overcome by idling the car for 2/3 minutes once started. I find this completely unsatisfactory for a brand new car and smells of a design fault.

Hi,

I also bought a Renault sport in March 2010 and have had the same problem recently of kangarooing. Did you resolve your problem, and if so could you give me any tips?...

I have a Fiat Brava SX80 1.2 16V which suffers a severe power loss on motorways when reaching 60mph. The power drops off and the car coasts to a stop with the engine at idle there is no response from the pedal. When you turn the ignition off and on again you can proceed as normal for a few hundred yards then the problem comes back. When driving in town traffic the car is normally ok for a few miles then the same thing happens. The car recently had a replacement engine fitted (second hand before I bought the car) the mechanic at the garage said everything was done that needed to be done so should be ok. I have changed the plugs and leads and also put an injector cleaning additive in the fuel, but the problem has not gone away. No warning lights come on to warn of anything wrong. Any advice. Hello, My wife is having problems with her car. It developed a loud banging noise overnight while moving even at a very low speed. Wierd as it was working perfectly the day before!

Basically i told her to check it our online before getting it towed to the nearest garage but she wouldnt listen. she just found out that she needs the front coil springs replaced, a pair of front shock absorbers done, both front brake discs and pads, a tracking check and also a new battery. We were quoted 713.55 by the garage which we cant afford to pay so its stuck there at the moment. I thought id see if i can find a cheaper alternative by buying the parts myself online which came to just over 200 and got a quote from a mobile mechanic to do all the work for around 150. ... The adjustment for the upright section of the drivers seat has gone; the seat won't hold in the upright position, and just freely clicks down to a 'very relaxed' setting, which is pretty useless. It's helping tone my stomach muscles, mind.

Dont know your particular car but seat mechanisms rarely fail unless something is broken, that being the case I would look for a secondhand one. Look on ebay to see if someone is breaking one.
