Hello
Does anybody know what a focus st with 265 bhp will do 0-60 and top end in? Read more
My friend has a porsche 924S which will not start on the key. The engine turns, battery ok, it will start by pushing or towing. as such it is a useless car. The original suppliers, porsche main dealers, have no solution. The control box has been returned for checking twice without result, and finally, it will start if a 944 box is installed but wont run properly. I am sure it is simple, if you know the answer Read more
this looks like getting to an answer. thanks
I know that this has been asked and answered before but I haven't been able to find it using the search. I have also searched HJ's DT column as I saw an answer only a few weeks ago - again no luck, so apologies for repetition.
Two problems :
(1) My son has recently received notice of a traffic violation whilst in the centre of Florence in a hire car last July. The fines he has been given is Euro 104. He doesn't remember being there and it isn't clear what exactly the fine is for. Does he have to pay ? Can he contest it ? What happens if he doesn't pay up ?
(2) Racing back from the south of France this Monday, on the last 100kms of a 1250km drive from Nice due to no airlines, I zoomed past a blue gendarmerie car on the motorway. I reckon realistically I was doing 155kph ie 25 over the 130 limit. The copper in the driver's seat was pointing a device at me as I passed. I suspect it was some type of radar gun or possibly a hand-held camera. Nothing flashed and the car didn't chase me and I wasn't stopped further up the road. If anyone with real local knowledge as opposed to guesswork could tell me whether I'm likely to receive a ticket in a few weeks' time and what the fine is likely to be, I'd be grateful. Wouldn't even have been driving if it hadn't been for volcanic ash - grrrrr. Read more
I would agree with the reply about France. After you were stopped did you go through a peage toll waypoint? If so were there police there? If there were and they did not stop you you have probably gotten away with it.
We were recently ran off the road by another driver, He was charged with dangerous driving and leaving the scene and being an idiot.
During the hit and run, we were forced by the impact, off the road and went part way into a field, the car left front wheel was destroyed after hitting the roadside curb and the right wing impact side, was dented from the impact and mad max like behaviour of the driver. We fitted the spar on the destroyed tyre, phoned the insurance company and limped to a garage of their choice.... Read more
If it covers your losses I would take it. If not, or if there was any any personal injury please come back with more details and I will advise further.
Hi, I visit the site every day without logging on. I've posted once in six months. I tried viewing the site last night, and was warned that it may harm my computer. I tried a couple of times (using bookmarks) and each time got the warning message.
I tried again tonight, (obviously) and managed to 'get through' without any sort of warning, although when (unusally) I logged on, I was asked to change my password. This done, the site crashed ! Twice !... Read more
I take it you have an anti-virus program?
Fiat launched their 5 year plan today with a raft of new models for Alfa, which is a relief as tthere was talk of them winding the brand down.
The 159 will be replaced in 2012 with the "Giulia", based on an enlarged Giulietta platform (FWD or 4WD)... Read more
The MiTo has grown on me from when I first saw pictures of it. I think out on the open road they look very nice.
The Giulietta suits the front much more (wait until you see one in the flesh), they really look better in the metal....
hi, i bought my polo yesterday but on the way home the engine started to rattle at idle. like a cylinder was out. so when i got home i did an oil change, new plugs leads, distro cap rotor arm and coil pack. the rattling has more or less gone but the engine is now making a tappety noise, so i have checked the compression on the cylinders and it all seems good, i have no idea what to do next, im quite good usually being an almost qualified engineer (student)
any help would be greatly appreciated. Read more
Hydraulic tappet is sticking at a guess you could try some flush, but why did you change the coil pack?
hi i am from Macedonia and over here there are no good mechanics, i have a xantia and the problem is the ride hight its low in normal position i changed all the spheres and its the same the front is ok but the back is hard so my question is what shoud the right position be from the tyres front and back beacuse the mechanic doesnt now and cant find the right position eather is low or very high thanks Read more
Gas pressure will make no difference to the ride height, it will make it ride hard though.
To check the suspension height, look at the front driveshafts, they should be near enough level, parallel to the road. The rear suspension arms should also be near enough parallel to the road.
We run a small office with 3 desktop machines running XP. Id like to buy Sage Act and have it on three machines. Can I buy a 4th desktop to act as a server running win xp pro (with a hub) or do i need to buy a dedicated server and have Microsoft SBS etc running? All we need the server for is to share Act.
