These are a bit prone to being upset if you open them with the key and close with the plip, or vice versa. Happened with my wifes once and went on flashing the headlights all night.

Rather than pay ford £60 an hour plus vat, a great pc based diag system that will even recode injectors is the autoenginuity scantool with ford enhancement. Autoenginuity/gendan.co.uk sell it for almost £400 all in but you can get the tool itself on ebay, refurbed, from USA, less than £100 , (beware of customs fees) and get the enhancement separately. It is sent via a code in an email anyway so may be transferable.

Has coded my 2002 tdci mondeos injectors, no prob, despite being a pre-2004 diesel. ... Read more

Have a budget of around 14-15k, got to be a petrol because I mainly do short journeys. Need enough space for family and dog, and fancy something a bit different. Am considering New Doblo, Honda Insight.

Other half likes VW Touran and Hyundai i30, but they are a bit dull.... Read more

So anyway....

Had a look at Touran, and was quite impressed but too expensive for our budget really....

Hi

I have a 1998 Citroen Synergie 2.0 petrol that has an intermittent fault. It will suddenly lose power(especially likes doing this at roundabouts) and feels as if it is hunting for petrol. The idle then seems to increase.I have replaced the idle stepper motor and cleaned the pipe that runs from that to the oil filler, but problem is still there.Could it be the throttle position sensor? and is so, where is located. On another point, is there a manual I could download?... I have a carina that on idle is idling too high at 1200-2000 rpm. I tried cleaning out the throttle body with no joy. What could be causing this, i.e. which sensors can be tested for this? Has anyone come accross something like this before,

Thanks... Read more

Hi

I have checked the temperature switches/ sensors. Can the idle control valve be tested at all/ cleaned out? Also, out of interest with what are starter motors cleaned with?

I have a scooter and it starting to make a squeeking noise from what seems to be the swing arm. It goes away once it is at a rest, but after a journey it makes a squeeking noise. What might be causing this problem? I tried using WD-40 to no avail.

Thanks... Read more

What ever it is causing the squeak which is probably the swinging arm bearing, don't use WD-40 or similar products as they are an abbrasive cleaner for releasing moving parts after they have become overly dirty or rusted. If any over spray gets onto the belt or brakes they will be knackered and useless. Keep WD40 for hinges and rusty old padlocks.
