I need a fuel pump capable of flowing enough for a 1.9 gti engine out of a 205. But its not in a 205 and needs to be exteranlly mounted, not an in tank type. Also must be a common car. Im hoping to get one from a scrapyard.
Hopefully someone will know of one or two worth trying.
thanks

Everyone at work is talking about possibly the first Ferrari Enzo to be written off in a crash.

Warning..This site in general maybe a bit morbid for some so copy and paste link if you want to look. Apparently though the Enzo driver just had a cut lip. Read more
You don't have to be an Alonso to drive these things. If you did they wouldn't be sold to cash customers. You have to have a modicum of understanding though - the oft-mentioned 'mechanical sympathy' - and sobriety and emotional tranquillity are probably more important than usual until you have some of the measure of the thing.
600 BHP... not to be taken lightly or wielded carelessly.
A new car wash and valet service has opened local to my UK offices offering wash and internal hoovering so I decided to give them a try as the company Vectra estate ( also available in white ) was absolutely filthy and the local Tesco car wash ( £5 )never gets the car clean.
They started work as I left - five uniformed guys working on the car at the same time - owner is a Brazilian judging by the flag outside and his baseball cap.
Got it back after an hour washed and gleaming, inside paintwork washed and polished around the doors, hoovered immaculately inside cabin and boot, the dash and all internal plastics and wheel had been dusted and polished, wheel arches had been pressure washed and tyres had been blacked so it looked like it was straight off the forecourt. My only problem is the smell of the polish they seem to use. Paper down to protect the newly hoovered floor in the front.
The cost - £12 only and I got a receipt, I defy anyone to find a better value valet. I have since taken the Civic in there and SWMBO has asked me to drop her Yaris in for a valet tomorrow
What do you pay in your area?

"Sounds like a load of wallets to me."
Subaru is aiming to give Impreza buyers more than £3500-worth of peace of mind.
Until June 30, the manufacturer is providing a range of extras to customers who buy the £20,495 Impreza Type UK saloon.
Included in the package are five years' servicing, five years' extended warranty, five years' roadside recovery and a satellite tracking and touch-screen navigation system.
A hands-free Bluetooth mobile phone kit is also included.
Is this the reply from Subaru UK to the importers (Motorpoint, Alliance etc sourcing from Malta/Cyprus) who are undercutting Subaru UK by £4-4,500 on the base WRX. Read more
My retired neighbour is on his third Imprezza WRX. He mostly uses it to go to Asda for the shopping - never goes over 40mph in it and polishes it every weekend!
I need a new steering rack in my car.
What other parts would you advise changing while its getting done?
Also, how may hours labour should I be looking at to get it done?

Must be something about Bentleys - my favourite sighting recently was a Flying Spur with registration LE55 TAX .... a very successful accountant perhaps?

Just in case you may have missed it, there's a story today about husband-and-wife team John and Helen Taylor setting a new fuel efficiency record on a 78-day around the world drive.
Using a special new non-standard fuel formulated by Shell they drove 18,000 miles through 25 counties and their VW Golf used just 24 tanks of fuel (287 gallons), averaging 62.7mpg. They had originally been expected to use at least 50 tankfuls.
No details of which engine was involved is given in the Daily Mail story.

Maybe the new "fuel" was only available in petrol form!
It seems odd, but I've only seen a handful of 06 model cars.
I recall seeing a dozen or so within a fortnight of the new reg, but to only see four or five by now is strange.
Have we stopped buying new cars?

The latest figures say that over 434,000 new cars have been registered so far this month. This is a slight decline from last years figure.

I'm not into gaming so I don't pay all that much attention to the bells and whistles.
However, I've got a pretty basic ATi 9550 256MB card and, because I installed the latest version of DirectX 9c the other day, I ran the DirectX Diagnostic tools. All were passed successfully and it also manages the 3DMark 2001SE tests, although I realise that's somewhat old hat now...:-)
My last card, with an nVidia GeForceFX 5200 chipset, used to crash the system on 3DMark 2005 after the second or third demonstration level.

Watchdog covered 4 x Volvo XC 90s (diesel) that had gone on fire. The owners's complaints centred around:
The fact that the cars were 100% destroyed and could have endangered life.
The fact that Volvo UK were not interested in investigating the cause with a view to possibly preventing further fires.
The first XC 90 (diesel)was 5 days old when fire started in the boot area before consuming the whole car. The owner's dogs were a bit traumatised. Read more
