Does anyone know how these things work?
I reset mine last time I filled up 20 odd miles ago, and since then the MPG has sat resolutely at --.-. It usually starts displaying numbers within a mile or so.
The miles are accumulating, as is the running time. Interestingly the remaining range has increased from 328 miles at reset to 333 now. Perhaps it's producing its own petrol inside the tank, and I need to remove the filler cap to let some out!

"They all do that, sir".
Mine does it occasionally, too.
Resetting it again usually does the trick (by holding 'info' down when the MPG display is up)
Alternatively, if you hold down the 'info' button for several seconds, it resets everything to do with the trip computer, and always seems to get the MPG thing working - this is what I usually do after a fill up.

I know this site depends on ads and I am very grateful for it's existence but these pop-ups are getting out of hand. There is one that doesn't even have a cancellation button and sits right in front of the text of the post your trying to read. Can something be done please? Read more

Like the name of this thread states, is the colour of your car that important?

Ok so buying 'kiss of death' dark blue will (apparently) lose you loads at trade in time but as for other colours is it really that important what shade your car is?

I'm really not that bothered but after reading a car magazine article today even the psychologists are getting in a lather about it.

If you buy..

RED you are impulsive, outgoing and ambitious.

BLUE you like hard work and are group minded though you lack imagination.

WHITE you are unemotional but dutiful.

GREEN you love your home and have a tranquil life.

SILVER you crave attention but are stern and self-righteous. (Mercedes owners take note)

BLACK you are success oreientaited and ambitious.

GREY you are dutiful and cautious.

My opinion is what a load of cobblers. My car is blue btw. Read more

I just picked up a cheapy cinquecento (899cc M reg) for the missus from the auctions.
Problem being that when I switch the ignition to "off" and remove the key, the engine keeps on running. All the gauges seem to be operative too, although the battery symbol illuminates.

I'm thinking it might be something to do with the aftermarket Foxguard immobliser it's got fitted. Supposedly, according to what little documentation I've got with it, it's got a switch hidden somewhere to override it, so if I could find it I could or not. Not that I can find it.

Any other suggestions of what could be the problem? I'm useless with electrics and having to stall the car to stop it is becoming a bit of a drag.

Many thanks.

I think it is more a case of replacement a tricky job thats why it was in the auction most probably.

Anyone know where the lights on warning buzzer is on a Lupo?
It's not working - it's not the light switch at fault (checked with new one). (The interior light is working - rumoured to work off of the same fuse).
Thanks

Thanks guys - will post back if we get it sorted.

(RD: On investigation, my MkV Golf is the same - keep the door closed but pull the interior handle and the lights-on gong goes. It has no interior puddle-lights, as you say, but external ones in the door mirrors. Unfortuneatly, the Lupo is basic basic, so no such lights to give a clue...)

I just received my second parking ticket from Stockport centre. The first time was when they introduced the street parking charges without telling anybody.
Today we parked on top of the shops, and walked down to the precinct. After a few minutes I remembered that I had to buy a ticket so I hurried back and bought one. When I got to the car with the ticket it was too late, I had a different kind of ticket. The warden must have been watching, because it can't have been more than a couple of minutes before he ticketted me. Did you know that the plastic folder is self adhesive, and sticks to wet glass ?
But, much more newsworthy, the BBC news tonight ran a story about a funeral at a church in Bury where the warden ticketted all of the mourners and the hearse too. The wardens are on bonus, so I think that he, or she, is drinking shorts tonight. Read more

If there is no indication that parking is prohibited you can park. You may get a ticket but it cannot be enforced. In Leeds, when they were installing roadside parking bays, they burnt off the double yellows and left space for a couple of bays. They remained like this for a couple of weeks,no markings,no ticket machine.I took to parking there and after a while got a ticket.Disputed it,received a letter with waffle about it being a no parking zone but the fact that they dropped the charge told the truth.

Can someone out there please help me with a short answer with regards to the pros and cons of buying pre registered.

I know the basics of pre registered deals but having to wait to sept/october for delivery of the car, and then a further 4-5 monthes for the V5, is this common?

What happens if the dealer goes belly up prior to delivery or after delivery of the car having paid in full, have i got a leg to stand on even if the V5 is not in my name?

Any help would much appreciated

If the dealer is holding on to the V% for 5 mths there is something deeper.

Possible Reasons

The car may be either registered as a Demo car to that garage @ prefential discounts from Manufacturer.(May be additional 10%)

OR

It is part of a fleet order (again @ special % discounts -on big order this could be normal % + 15%).

If Either of the above are correct the manufacturer will want this money back if the dealer is caught out having retailed the car having bought it for Demo or Fleet sales.

My Accord 2.0 auto is now 12 years old and i have had it for 8. Total mileage 114k.
Buy a cheap exhaust as the original Honda fit only lasted 2 years. Back box goes no matter what you pay..
Check radiator, about 4 year life span.
Rust on back wheel arch, but just cosmetic.
Only breakdown was Ignition module that cost £350 for new distributor. One ABS sensor has gone.
I have run it for 30p(total costs) a mile which (over 80k miles) i think is very good value for money.
Warrant direct have it as one of their most reliable cars.
