Credit squeeze

Someone drove into the back of my wife's car and is fully responsible. Direct Line then passed me onto Drive Assist for a rental car while her car was in for repairs. They are delivering it on Tuesday. I have had this rental car for 2 weeks for £47 a day, which will work out about £1,000, which I do not have. I have by accident came across loads of threads about this company. My concern is that if the 3rd party refuses to pay the car credit agreement, what are my rights and what should I do if they want to get the outstanding balance with me. I have fully comp with Direct Line as well as Legal Protection.

If you did not sign anything accepting liability for the hire car then you are not liable. But in this case I don’t think you have anything to worry about anyway.
