Would adding a named driver to my insurance increase the risk?

I recently renewed my car insurance and to get a cheaper quote I included my wife to the policy. I would have thought as the car would be on the road more often, the risk might be greater?

No, they see it as the risk is split between you and as such there is a lesser risk.
