What is the best way to get insurance to cover the car hire excess?

I'm hiring cars on three occasions this year, one in Italy and two in the U.K. What is the best way to get insurance to cover the excess?

You can insure the excess at the point where you hire the car, but I would always recommend against this as you can insure it online through other providers prior to arranging. The easiest way is to go on price comparison website and search that way: www.insurance4carhire.com/european-car-hire-excess...e get very good reviews, they may well be worth investigating.
