• 17 inch wheels to 16 inch, any advice? - Ford Focus 1.6 Tdci 19 Apr 2010 (Forum)
  Hi I drive a mk2 Ford Focus 1.6 Tdci Zetec with 17 inch alloys 205/50 tyres. I went into a pothole not long ago and since then the car (in particular the steering wheel and dashboard) shakes at over 60mph. I had wheel balancing and trackings done 4 times already (yes 4 times) since then and I think I've wasted enough money on them.

  Good Evening 2.0 litre petrol Ford Focus (Duratec) My girlfriend's Dad has a non-problem (i.e. he doesn't care to admit it exists) with his Focus. It always takes a bit of cranking over but always catches (just a bit longer than other petrols I'm used to).

  Hello all. My ford escort 75 van makes a strange noise when I get up to about 30 miles an hour, and the faster I go the more high pitched and louder it gets. I can best describe the noise as a constant 'Whurring' sound, It sounds similar to when you have a really flat tyre.

  Someone also said it could be the 'idle control valve' which they showed me was situated tucked under the inlet manifold. I don't know what to do cannot afford a visit to the ford dealership. Should i get a different inlet manifold from the scrap dealers??

  I have a 53 plate 2 litre mondeo LX with 40k miles on the clock which is a little thirsty as I dont do alot of miles but my friend has offered me his Focus and I am tempted. The focus is as follows Ford Focus 1.6 Petrol Black 'Zetec' Model 53 (2004) Reg 11 Months MOT 93,000 miles on clock This is what I have had done to it Replacement Suspension Links £150 - these are the struts on the suspension.

  Front tyres on my Titanium X diesel seem to be wearing quickly.This was a Ford direct vehicle bought with 15k on the clock. I have heard that Mondeos are prone to this front scuffing and wear. Rear seem OK. Checking what is available I have come across comments on "summer tyres".

  Hi, Our ford fiesta zetec climate is always steamed up, to the point that the inside of the glass is soaking wet! - the only way to clear it is to have the heated screen AND A/C on, this takes about 15 minutes.

  Hi i have two ford mondeo's,both are 1.8 engine's and bothe have the same problem. They both jitter when accelerating past 3,000 revs,but sometimes are fine,i have spent load's of money on both they have had new spark plugs,coil packs,ht leads,air filter,fuel filter etc.

  On taking it to the dealer, she was told this was just wear and tear and must be down to her driving style. I find this incredibly hard to believe as she has had two Fords before this one (both Focuses) and they have both had in excess of 70,000 miles driven before needing a new clutch. The dealer categorically refuses to do the work under the warranty and wants £750.

  Car has 80k on the clock and is running perfectly in every way with no mods. Any ideas what could be the cause- is this normal or common fault on pumas? Ford didn't seem to notice it when they changed the cambelt last year. Thanks in advance, Mike.

  The RAC man said the battery was showing 7.1v and, in his opinion the charge light wasn't working at all. I was wondering if these cars have some sort of regulator like the older Fords I use to play with in my youth. These things would go wrong for a pastime. As the alternator is recent I don't suspect it (although I don't rule it out). Any ideas where to start looking?

  Hi everyone Ford Fiesta 1997 1.3 Endura - E When started it throws out a load of oily smoke which has got quite a lot of moisture in it. It continues to smoke all the time. The engine also miss-fires and the exhaust back-fires.

  Just back from Kwik Fit where they've confirmed I need new brake discs and pads front and rear. It's a Ford Focus 2.0 Zetec first registered April 2001. They've quoted £302 to do the job and I nearly fainted. I've been looking around to see how much it would cost to buy the parts and a Haynes manual to do it myself.

  For a v6 it is very poor. My old Audi A4 v6 was a hot rod compared to this. Any ideas suggestions before I resort to FORD. I have checked under the bonnet and nothing loose or obviously missing. Car was "serviced" before I bought it ( 3 months ago) but I think they only changed the oil. Added some REDEX to a tankful which has improved my fuel consumption, a little.

  Yet another problem (sigh)W Reg ford Focus when i press the button on the key fob to lock the doors you here the locking sound followed by the opening sound, for some reason the car wont lock when i press the key fob (it did last week when i bought the car) it just automatically repoens itself, it does exactly the same when i use the key in the drivers door, the only way i can lock the door is by using the passenger side lock, i guess this does not immobalise the car ,i have just bought a new battery for the Key fob but this has made no difference, can anyone please help me (again)?

  I have recently purchased an 06 Focus with 80k on the clock. Everything runs sweet on it and I know Ford say 100k for a belt change but as I have always erred on the side of caution I'm wanting to get the cambelt changed in the next 10k miles (before a trip to france in summer) Have always done my own belts on past cars (lastest was a 406 HDI) but I think this one, without the aid of a haynes book may be a little bit tricky, so think I'll send it to the local indy.
