• Vauxhall Corsa 3 door - Drivers Seat won't lock back into position 9 Jul 2023 (Forum)
    We have a 3 door Vauxhall Corsa which means that the drivers seat handle allows it to fold forward and slide on the runners to allow someone into the back seats. The seat mechanism jammed / broke and so the seat backrest would not lock back into place and the seat slid up and down the runners and will not stop in any position and the car wasn't driveable.

  How difficult is it to change the seats in a car? Following on from the back pain thread it seems clear that some cars have very good seats and others are very poor. Is it easy to change over seats? Obviously after market seats such as Recaro would come with a fitting kit however they would be very pricey.

  I wonder if anyone can clarify this situation. We have a nearly 4 year old grandaughter, who uses a child's car seat. The original straps are now too short for her so we secure her into the seat using the standard seat belt. Is this legal? Thanks.

  Anybody any know the rough cost of leather seat repairs? Just the drivers seat on the edges of the actual seat not the backrest.

  Right, have decided to replace the horrid drivers seat out of my Mercedes Vario (camper in conversion) with some nice and tidy Mazda RX-8 Seats (as I rather like these) In the works - the fix to get this to work was to use 13mm plywood between the main seat (the mazda seat) and the mercedes seat mounting points where the old seat used to sit.

  We have a small problem which I hope someone can answer. My wife is only 5.2 yet she cannot reach the pedals - even with the seat right forward. The problem seems to be the seats. They do not seem to be adjustable with regards to seat position. I am not sure if this is a fault with the seat or a mannerism of the car. On the side of the seat is a lever where you can adjust the seat position but it only seems to lock in a reclined position - my wife likes to drive more upright.

  I have an '05 Clio 3 door. The passenger seat forward/backward seat adjuster has locked up and the seat just glides backwards and forwards - it doesn't lock in position. This happened after the seat back was released to allow access to the rear seats.

  I need to make my passenger seat height adjustable the same as the driver seat. My idea is to obtain the driver seat from the equivalent LHD car, and fit it in place of the existing passenger seat. Anyone know a reason this wouldn't work?

  Middle of March sees the arrival of our 3rd child. His or her elder siblings are aged four and two, and at present sit in a booster seat and a traditional 'car seat'. Looking at the back seat of the Mondeo (new shape - esate) today with the two car seats in place, number three is going to have a bit of a tight squeeze in their 'travel system' car seat that clips onto the push chair.

  My wife wants to take her 28 months old great-niece somewhere, and is going to borrow a proper child seat with which to carry her. I said that although the proper car seat is a good idea, she could probably use the pull down section in the centre of the rear seat, which has its own seat belt. Good idea, or forget it, and go with the proper child seat?

  Hi my family are considering buying a SEAT Altea S TDi on motability. I owned a SEAT Ibiza SDi ten years ago which was very economical and mechanically solid, but the build quality was poor. I gather the quality on newer SEATs is a lot better and are the cars still mechanically good.

  Is there something different about recent car design? Harder/memory foam seats? Harder seats to accommodate airbags? Steeper angle of the seat base for safety? Or have I just picked badly? Need to get the right car next time as every drive is an issue at the moment. Considering Merc A-class or Insignia as you can adjust the seat base angle.

  When I put on my seat belt I have an intermittent fault with the seat belt warning light coming on and the beeping sound. Sometimes when I shake where the seat buckle goes into it would stop for a little bit and then start beeping again .

  Hi, am wondering if anyone can help? My rear middle seat is stuck in the down position due to the seat belt which wont budge!! We've tried taking the back off the seat but special tools are required to get to the mechanism and I don't know whether to invest in the tools or just take it in to a dealer???
