Hi all,
As the title describes, can you get seat covers designed to go with cars that have air bags fitted in the seats?
I have just bought my better half an a4 tdi 51 plate.......
Many thanks

Good question actually, I'd never even thought about it.
No idea, but someone will know!
|
Yes you can. Aldi were selling some several weeks ago, but they only get special offers in for a short time, so are unlikely to be available now.
I bought some for my C-Max, but the rear seat covers don't fit when you've got the rear seats slid back, do I can't use them.

I got some of the cheapie Aldi covers to keep the grime off when I was in overalls and they specifically said they were OK for use with seat airbags - not that it concerned me with no airbags.
|
If you have ever looked at accident damaged cars where the seat airbags have gone off then no way would you cover them as the bag will obviously have to explode somewhere, the stitching is meant to rip,my car has these and i would rather dirty the beige leather than risk side spleen damage

I'd like to see how they work as well,,,,
|
sorry but side airbags are too expensive to blow up,i draw the line at airbags
|
You should have filmed and Youtubed it !
|
the third link seems to know what they are doing
not happy with the second one mind as my car isnt listed with side airbags which it does have
first link i might as well go to argos i think?
|
Well having been severely battered by side seat airbags that deployed correctly, I would not want to be in a car where the deployment pattern of bags is influenced by seat covers.
Dirty seats for me thank you.
