Mazda Mazda 6 (2002 - 2007) - Buying Mercon V autofluid - online ? 9 Nov 2007 (Forum)
Loads of places selling Dexron III, (which I assume I cannot use), but nowhere selling Mercon V. I would need approx a 5litre can. Does anyone know an online source of this fluid (my work schedule makes it difficult to get to the shops) so I can get a can delivered, or failing that a motor factors that will sell in this quantity. I'm based South London/Surrey borders. -
Lockdown #2 25 Nov 2020 (Forum)
I suspect that this (shorter) lockdown will be handled differently, certainly by new car sales. We know that showrooms will be closed (in England) from Thursday, but workshops will remain open. Where the difference will be is that I expect it to be a suspension of all sales activities this time, with no click and collect option. -
3% Cash Back From Shell 22 Jun 2007 (Forum)
Briefly... 3% cashback on Shell fuel purchases (max £5000 per year) so not as good as it might be for business use, but fair for ordinarry customers. 1% on other purchases extended warranty on DOMESTIC appliances - not sure if it's just washing machines etc, or tv's & cameras, sat nav & stuff) price drop refund - if what you buy gets cheaper, for short period after purchase. So looks an OK card, if you settle bill every month - certainly better than previous reward of Shellpoints. Don't like the 0870 number for contact so 0800 130035 is from www.saynoto0870.com http://www.shell.co.uk/smc VB -

Electric Vehicles, EVs - EVs and effects of dealershhips 25 Feb 2021 (Forum)
Was chatting to one of them last night and he's convinced that it's going down this route....... Both were of the firm belief that EVs would revolutionise new car sales and that we could see the demise of new car dealers as we know it within 10-20 years. The thinking was two-fold.... firstly that the younger generation don't like visiting car dealers and would rather buy/lease online, have fixed monthly payments and no contact with sales-staff. -
Renault Clio - Any industry veteran perhaps looking for a change? 17 Aug 2017 (Forum)
It is developed to nett £10 000 per month and to require only 2 employees to manage. The software goes online on 31 Jan 2018 and I am looking for a buyer to take over at £250k. I have two initial investors to repay and with the extremely long development time, repayment has become critical - hence the sale. -

Diesel V Petrol and CO2 19 Aug 2008 (Forum)
This is rather interesting. I wonder of it will result in a rethink on diesel and CO2 emmissions. www.channel4.com/4car/ft/feature/feature/15594/2 It states that "The problem is that diesel cars emit more carbon dioxide per litre of fuel burnt." -
NCAP results for pick ups - very poor 26 Feb 2008 (Forum)
www.channel4.com/4car/news/news-story.jsp?news_id=17130 Surprising results from the latest ncap tests. I would have thought these things were tougher than these results suggest. -
Has road charging died a death already? 7 Jul 2005 (Forum)
http://www.channel4.com/4car/news/news-story.jsp?news_id=12583 From channel 4's 4car site. It appears road charging using satellite tracking is still far away! -

Suzuki S-Cross - advice re. selling 5 Oct 2022 (Forum)
What I'm wondering is whether it makes more sense to pay the amount (which I think is reasonable compared to some other quotes I'd received in the past for repairing said dent) so as to find a buyer more easily or whether it is best to leave the dent as it is and settle for a lower asking price. I'm not trading in or buying a new model and ideally I would prefer to sell privately but I may have to use one of the online services (motorway, carwow, or similar) due to need for a quick sale. What would people on the forum advise? -
What price an Audi Coupe? 25 Jul 2002 (Forum)
Nice dark red/bronze metallic, not fridge white or faded red like so many of them. I had a look at Parkers online price guide, which suggested just over £4K for a private sale (assuming I have the scrape down one side sorted out, and have it valeted to get rid of all the dog pawprints on the seats). I don't believe this for a moment, but 20Vs turn up so rarely that it's difficult to get a feel for value by looking in the classifieds. -
Waterboost 18 Sep 2016 (Forum)
When I rode single cylinder motorcycles (1950s) the engine almost always ran noticeably more smoothly when it was raining. There was an equipment on sale to drip feed water into the carburettor but I didn't have any experience of that device. This morning I saw in the IEEE OnLine newsletter a snippet that Bosch have developed a Waterboost system that improves the fuel consumption by 13%. -
Selling Roof Bars on e-bay 16 Jul 2006 (Forum)
Recently scrapped a mk2 astra and have put my genuine vauxhall roof bars for sale on ebay. I want to find out if these items fit other cars in the vauxhall range and was wondering if there is an online resource listing part numbers. I was thinking of phoning the local vauxhall garage but their parts dept is not particularly helpful and thats on a good day! -
New Golf 24 Jul 2003 (Forum)
Don't tell Sean, I think they've built a Fiat Stilo by mistake. http://www.channel4.com/apps26/4car/jsp/main.jsp?lnk=220&zoom=vw/03golfprv03.jpg Actually it looks very promising, though hardly revolutionary as far as I can see. -

auto diagnostic tool - Is anyone who have bought automotive diagnostic pr 24 May 2014 (Forum)
I run a small repair shop. so I was wondering if there is some reasonable priced car diagnostic tools that would be able to bring my garage into the 21st Century? Recently, I am paying attention to some online shops, I found that there are a wide variety of automotive diagnostic products online, but I dare not to buy. I know an online shop is plusobd.com (It is not advertising), i don't know it is reliable or not. -
