Vauxhall Vectra II Specs Announced 13 Feb 2002 (News)
Vauxhall has been allowing a few journalists to drive its new Vectra model and has provided a press pack containing so much information it is difficult to read and impossible to précis here. The general consensus of opinion between 'Autocar' and 'Auto Express' is that the car has an excellent ride quality but, while handling is a huge improvement on the old Vectra, it is still not quite up to Mondeo standards. -
272-mile Mk1 Morris Minor-Mini Super De Luxe for sale 9 Sep 2019 (News)
In fact, the one-owner 1968 Morris Mini-Mini Super De Luxe still has its plastic seat covers fitted. A Mrs B Jones ordered the car new in 1968 so that she could learn to drive. Sadly, she never passed her test and the car was garaged until heading to auction a few years ago. As a results, it is in ‘timewarp’ condition. For example, the door strikers, which were painted in Old English White to match the bodywork and that usually become chipped with use, are completely intact - as are the painted screws that would typically be prone to rust. -
A Grand Monday: BMW 518i 24 Jun 2019 (News)
The E34 generation of BMW 5-Series was a wonderful car - handsome, great to drive and beautifully made. But in a range full of high spec and super-smooth six-cylinder models, the four-cylinder 518i was the poor relation. With 113bhp, it was hardly powerful, nor was it especially refined, with a gruff engine note at high revs not helped by the fact it needed to be worked hard to make progress. -
59 Porsches up for auction 17 Oct 2017 (News)
The Northamptonshire auction features a wide range of Porsches from an entry-level 2003 Porsche 911 (996) Carrera 2 Tiptronic estimated at £18,000-£22,000, to a 1998 Porsche 911 (993) Turbo S estimated at £245,000-£285,000. One of only 26 built in right-hand drive, the Turbo S is one of the most desirable and powerful versions of the 993 generation - the last iteration of the air-cooled 911 era. High performance versions rarely come to market, and with only 36,210 miles on the clock, this 450bhp Porsche in Ocean Blue and a grey leather and carbon fibre interior is sure to spark a bidding war. -
Top 10: Best-selling cars in September 2017 5 Oct 2017 (News)
The downturn in diesel cars sales is partly down to the ambiguity over the future of diesel, with buyers fearing possible tax increases and charges for driving in cities. Worries surrounding Brexit have also contributed towards the fall in consumer confidence. Demand for hybrids and electric cars continued to ramp up in September - reaching 22,628 registrations. -

Volkswagen Golf GTI Campaign heads to auction 20 Oct 2015 (News)
It has been owned by the seller for two years and in that time has covered 5000 miles, taking the current mileage to 88,591. According to the vendor, the car drives well and the bodywork is in good condition. If you’re thinking the guide price seems a little on the cheap side, that’s probably because this car was registered as a Category C insurance write off in 2004 after it sustained damage to the bonnet, wing, and bumper. -

The press release tells us its new Prius "heralds the next generation of Toyota's signature hybrid powertrain" but is strangely reticent about the details. It talks of making its next generation hybrids easier and more intuitive to drive, that fuel economy is improved and that the new drivetrain is more compact. We get two statistics: that the thermal efficiency of the new engine is improved by more than 40% over its predecessor and that the new hybrid system targets an 18% improvement in fuel efficiency. -
