  • Car scam - no such thing as a bargain 28 Feb 2008 (Forum)
One gentleman even went to Dover on the day in question to pick up his £20k car which he had bought for £10k, despite our advice against it?.. Few points to think about here when buying?. 1. These days there is no such thing as a bargain, in our experience any vehicle that is for sale at more than 15% below market value probably has something to hide 2. If you advertise your car for sale, make sure the VRM is hidden and at least make it more difficult for these people to get the ID in the first place?

  • Best Price on Ford Focus, Please... 16 Nov 2002 (Forum)
If anyone has a suggestion for the above for online suppliers, I'd be really grateful. Six months ago on this site, Trade Sales was offering the 1.6 Zetecs for £9299; I'm interested in this model but can't find a similar price. A diesel would be fine, too.
  • Revolutionary new online experience 12 Jul 2007 (Forum)
    >> revolutionised the carbuying process. >> They appear to revolutionised their website, but not the actual buying process. Very sleek, and lots of good looking video, but I couldn't find specification (they type of stuff printed in the back of a brochure). I'll bet they aggressively edit their forum!!

  • BMW - BMW clamping down on cheap online sellers 15 Feb 2008 (Forum)
BMW (UK) are trying to stop online reselling (i.e. 'brokering'). This is from Monday's Motor Trader: "BMW is clamping down on dealers selling vehicles direct to online resellers not authorised by the brand who are then advertising new models at hugely discounted rates. ?

http://www.itv-f1.com/News_Article.aspx?PO_ID=38123 Not the greatest F! driver, but terrific to watch on an a good day. Someone of the Alesi mould (or rather Alesi in F1 was of the same mould) as this obituary indicates.
  • Can F1 survive 5 Oct 2004 (Forum)
Can F1 survive? http://www.formula1.com/news/2225.html It puts a big question mark over the minnows. Will the public watch an even more depleted field? It does not look good.

  • Volkswagen Passat (2001 - 2005) - 01 1.9 Thumping noise 2 Jul 2008 (Forum)
It has been regularly serviced etc. I now want to replace the car but assume a loud 'wumping' would not help a sale. The noise seems louder on the passenger side. It is quite loud although only barely noticable from inside. Any ideas what can be causing it and how to remedy the fault will be appreciated. R/Rose.
  • Trust Ford Online 3 Jul 2016 (Forum)
I've also read its generally better to get from a main dealer rather than franchise, after reading about Evans Halshaw its left me in doubt buying from them. Also the car still has a warranty until 2017, would having it checked by the Rac/AA be overkill? Again I've read mixed reviews regarding doing this. I can barely find anyone when searching online who've done this.
  • 2.0 zetec mk1 auto - Focus burning oil smell 28 Dec 2012 (Forum)
I have changed the rocker cover gasket, changed the sump as it was badly corroded and replaced new oil. Im pulling my hair out as i cant pin point where its comming from. There is a misty burning smell, oil is dripping onto the exhaust and then its burning up through the exhaust and thats when you see smoke comming from the front right of the engine. Are there any common problems, cars done 70.000 miles.

  • Advice on buying new through online discount sites 25 Aug 2010 (Forum)
I am looking to buy a new motor from a online new car discount place.  From what I can see, they just buy in bulk and supply with 1 owner on the docs which is like buying an ex-demo.  So for me it works fine.
  • Help Needed, Buying My 1st Car Soon 24 May 2004 (Forum)
I passed my driving test last week :) and i'm after a new car now. I was wondering if anyone has used/knows anything about these online car brokers? They are called ukcarbroker.co.uk and motorprovider.co.uk. Its just that i'm extremely wary of buying a car online from a company i know nothing about. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated as i have'nt a clue and i don't want burnt fingers!
