Ford Escort 1600 petrol 1998 - Brake fluid change 13 Sep 2010 (Forum)
In the servicing manual for this car it recommends changing the brake fluid every 3 years irrespective of mileage, which I have been doing over the last 10years I've had the car. I am now told this is all old hat & is no longer necessary. The fluid I have been using is to Dot 4 spec, purchased in the last few weeks from Halfords & is their own brand. -

Our 04 807 Executive 2.0HDi is throwing up an odd fault warning that isn't mentioned in the handbook. When the car is started, the LCD infor panel above the the stereo shows "Brake Fault" and beeps. The handbook discusses this in conjunction with other warning lights, but in this instance nothing else shows, purely the LCD warning. Does anyone have any idea where to start looking? -

Clonking noise on Corolla vvti brakes... 29 Aug 2003 (Forum)
My 2000 (old shape) Corolla recently had a seized front brake disc - corrosion had 'welded' the pad to the disc, according to the RAC man who fixed it - which he did by sanding the disc down. Only problem now is that I think the corrosion spot is still there - the car sounds like something is clonking at the front - but isn't apparent if you rev the engine with the clutch out. -
