'97 1.2 - Disk brakes pitted - Tomuk
Hello again,
I failed my MOT the other day with a report saying that

'(both front)brake disc excessively pitted [3.5.1h]'

What does this exactly mean, as i have had a look at the disc's with a friend of mine who know a lot about cars, and he seems to think that they are fine.

can some one explain what that means?

(would a picture help?)

Tom

yes it would however if they are exccessivly pitted then i would expect the brake effiency to be low, have you checked the inner edge, they tend to rot/corrode and the pad only use's half or less of the face, the tester has only a few choices of failure to choose from and the description may not be accurate, may be worth a word and see exactly what he means
