Toyota Yaris - Brake Wear on Automatic Car.... 13 Oct 2022 (Forum)

SEAT Leon (1999 - 2005) - 00 - Bleeding brakes with ABS. 8 Jan 2008 (Forum)
Can anyone tell me how to bleed the brakes on a 7 year old leon with ABS. The rear calliper has been replaced but the brake pedal isn't as firm as it use to be. I am told that I might have to take it to a dealer for it to be put on the computer to activate the ABS pump whilst bleeding the brakes. -
306 brake vibration 7 Jul 2004 (Forum)
I have replaced the standard steel wheels on my P reg 1997 for a set of 306 alloys. They are the same diameter, 14". Now when i have to brake harshly the whole car vibrates. I think this is coming from the rear drum brakes as when i tested by pulling on the handbrake while moving, the vibration came back. Are my brakes in need of a good service?? -

Audi A3 - Almost crashed due to shoddy garage repair. 9 Jan 2011 (Forum)
The AA came out and discovered that the brake fluid container was completely empty, suggesting a leak, and a tow truck had to be called to take it to a garage. Two days later the garage had a look at it and discovered that a brake pad/caliper had been fitted incorrectly causing the brake fluid tube to twist and snag on the brake pad which, over time, led to a rupture causing the sudden loss of brake fluid and braking capability. -

Bleeding brakes on a Classic Mini 22 Jul 2004 (Forum)
Got to bleed the correctly so that we can check if there is in fact a problem with the system or if its just that they had not been done properly in the first place. Brakes were fine when we got the car but one brake pipe needed replacing. This was done and we attempted to bleed the brakes but by the next day the pedal was very spongy ?. first attempt so we may have just done it wrong. -
2002 Ford Focus - Braking effectiveness 20 Aug 2020 (Forum)
I am interested in buying an apparently well looked-after 2002 Ford Focus which is currently untaxed (in the UK), so can't test drive extensively. The current owner has replaced the clutch, cam belt and brake shoes. The brakes don't feel very effective - the (private) seller says this may be because the brake shoes are new, or just a "different car, different feel" situation. It passed an MOT in July with no major or brake-related issues, and the brake shoes were apparently replaced prior to that. -
Ford Fiesta - Brake travel on 63 Model 2 Jan 2014 (Forum)
I test drove a 63 plate Fiesta at a Ford dealership the other day. Having owned several different models of Focuses, C-Max's and Fiestas, I found the braking a little soft. As I braked the brake pedal seemed to me, to travel a lot further than I usually would expect before the braking kicked in. When I got back from the drive I asked the Manager who has been driving it from new if she felt the same about it. -
Renault Kangoo 51 - Kangoo 51 driver side brake sticking 24 Aug 2011 (Forum)
Hi I have a kangoo 51 and after a short drive my brakes seem to stick. The brake peddle only requires a touch to slow the van and both brakes over heat. I have replaced the pads (which were shot but worse on drivers side) and now my passenger side seems ok but my drivers side still overheats and the same problem has continued. -
Citroen Xsara Picasso (2000 - 2010) - 02 Diesel brakes(?) coming on intermittent 21 Mar 2009 (Forum)
When driving on the motorway at a constant speed (or any road over about 50mph) intermittently it feels like the brakes come on - the brake *lights* certainly do and the car slows. Taking my foot off the accelerator and pressing it again clears it. If my wife drives the car and I follow I can see the brake lights flicker occasionally like a loose connection but surely that cant be the case as the brakes come on.
