What does the future hold for the NEC Classic Motor Show? 26 Oct 2016 (News)
. Now in its 33 rd year - the first one took place in 1985 and played host to just 70 clubs – the NEC has grown to become the biggest indoor classic car show in the calendar and a great final hurrah for many owners before they put their cars away for the winter, with close to 2,000 vehicles on display, spread across five halls. I wonder, though, what the car park looked like back in 1984, as there’s a fair bet that almost every car that turned up on the public days back then would be worthy of some stand space of its own at this year’s event. -
Brexit – What does it mean for classics? 18 Jul 2016 (News)
Investment is just one thing, though. Indeed, for many of us, it’s a bad thing, as it takes the cars we want to own for purely nostalgic purposes annoyingly out of reach. If consumer caution means prices start to soften, then it could mean that, once again, the car you always promised yourself is back within reach. -

Cars £500 Less Than a Month Ago at Auction 30 Mar 2005 (News)
That’s at least £500 less than they were being pushed to in February, and confirms that at last these cars are becoming affordable, even though £7,300 is still a lot to pay for a 36,000 mile 3 year old car this size. Though bids were not being immediately accepted, Honda Accords looked a lot less money too. -

A Grand Monday: Skoda Felicia LXi Plus 14 Oct 2019 (News)
. It was one of the best budget cars of its era, but a quarter of a century since its debut, the Felicia is now a rare car, with the vast majority having been run into the ground and scrapped. That makes this example an extremely rare survivor, especially as it’s a pre-facelift car from the first year of production. -

Classic show brings collection of Allards 28 Jun 2017 (News)
The Classic Motor Show returns to Hatfield House in Hertfordshire on Sunday, 9 July. And with it will come an array of models from Allard - the London built sports car famous on both sides of the Atlantic as a rally and trials racer in the 1940s and 1950s. Mel Herman, event organiser of the Allard Owners’ Club, said, ‘We’re delighted to be holding our club’s concours d'elégance to the Hatfield House Classic Motor Show.’ The 11-car display arranged by the club will include a cross-section of Allard’s models from a P1 Coupe to a quartet of the M-Type, the imposing drophead that was the car of choice of film stars. -
Largest gathering of XKs set to celebrate model's 70th anniversary 8 May 2017 (News)
And in 2008, the XK Club had 600 at Goodwood. In 2018, the aim is 700. Additionally, all XK-engined cars are invited. Jaguar launched the XK120 in 1948 and the car helped to launch the careers of Sir Stirling Moss and future World Champion, Phil Hill. With a top speed of 120mph, the aluminium bodied car was the fastest production car in the world at the time, and lead Britain's post-war 'export or die' campaign, earning vital dollars, siring five Le Mans winners, and triumphing in international rallies. -
Comedian Jerry Seinfeld’s Porsches for sale at US auction 27 Jan 2016 (News)
Auction house Gooding & Company has confirmed at least three of the Stuttgart-built sportscars will be going under the hammer, which could earn Seinfeld about £7m. The US television star is famously cagey about the size and worth of his car collection, but estimates put it in the region of 40 to 50 vehicles. Seinfeld said, ‘I don't really even think of myself as a collector. I just love cars. And I still love these cars. But it's time to send some of them back into the world, for someone else to enjoy, as I have.’ The three cars confirmed for the sale are a 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder (estimate up to £4.2m), a 1958 Porsche 356A 1500 GS/GT Carrera Speedster (up to £1.75m), and a 1974 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.0 IROC RSR (£1m). -
750 classics turn out for Vintage Stony gathering 15 Jan 2016 (News)
As always, the event was packed with great metal, including a Fiat 500, a Citroen CX, Triumph GT6 and one or two Porsches. There was also plenty of pre-war classics and vintage motorcycles. The prize for the car the judges most wanted to take home went to a 1938 ERA ‘GRP1’ E-type race car. While the accolade for oldest vehicle on the day went to a 1987 Leon Bollee Voilurette. The car that drove the furthest to the event was a 1933 Ford two-door sedan – it travelled from Suffolk.
