Clio crowned best supermini

Fri, 19 Sep 2008
Motorists who are looking for car buying advice because they are considering a second hand vehicle may be interested to hear the Renault Clio has just won an award.

The model has been voted best supermini in the 2008 Auto Express Best Used Cars Honours.

Taking the title ahead of the likes of the Ford Fiesta, the Honda Jazz and the Fiat Grande Punto, the publication praised the vehicle's stylish design, wide range of engine choices, good fuel economy and low running costs.

Judge Mike Brewer, a former used car dealer, said: "The Renault is fine-looking with a great image and fun handling."

He added although many of its rivals were great vehicles, the Clio had the edge and was particularly desirable among younger motorists.

Renault put the model's success down to the fact it had strived to continue making improvements.

Meanwhile, the manufacturer recently announced it would be launching an updated Scenic range in 2009.
