Hi all. In the last couple of days the cars started juddering when accelerating. We've noticed it happens when you release the accelerator slightly and put back on.
It doesn't happen all the time though, it's intermittent.... Read more
Clutch and dmf are 100% mechanical, so there’s no diagnostic facility. Maf sensors are generally very reliable, they either work or don’t work.
Clearly we know that we cannot have the phone in our hands but the wording it uses is according to gov.uk is as follows -
It’s illegal to hold and use a phone, sat nav, tablet, or any device that can send or receive data, while driving or riding a motorcycle. This means you must not use a device in your hand for any reason, whether online or offline.... Read more

Would probably have to buy new tensioner, though original seems fine, and probably better quality than a Chinesium aftermarket item.

Temporary solution found. We are purchasing relatives car, 20 year old Honda CRV auto with full Honda service history & fresh MOT.
Thank you for all advice provided over the last couple of days, we will see what the used car market does over the next 12 to 18 months, hopefully used car prices will get back to a more reasonable level over the aforementioned period.
I need advice please on which car should buy, I need a smallish car which has to be Automatic because I’m partially disabled and has to have satnav, rear and back parking sensors, good drivers seat because I suffer with my back, and good mpg as well. Hope you can help me. Read more
We paid £13,600 for a 3yr old Nissan Leaf EV recently. If you have off street parking and/or access to street charging points (many of which are free) then it otherwise fits your requirements. Just don’t overpay for it.

Out walking the dog this morning, found a Mini Keyfob for keyless entry.

Back in the early 880's I drove with my mum to the local town to visit the solicitors. We collected the deeds to a house my dad had just bought and we had some shopping to do.
I went back to the car park, unlocked mum's red Maestro, dropped the envelope on the passenger seat and went in to town....
Hi
Hoping someone can help. My wife's Honda Jazz 1.4 2012 model we have been told has some issue with the automatic gear box as it is making a whining noise when the car accelerates. Honda gave us a quote of £1500 to change the bearing and now say they can't do the job. I now have been to a couple of auto transmission specialist who have advised it is cheaper to get a second hand auto gear box and change it over. Any advice or suggestions if this is better than scrapping the car or running it in the ground. One final question if we don't get it fixed what will happen will it eventually break down all of a sudden?... Read more

We were visiting Reeth in the Yorkshire Dales this week and noticed a minor road signposted to the village of High Fremingtpn which looked as if it had just been resurfaced. As I enjoy seeking out these byways I decided to go up it, particularly as I had always noticed a single house perched two thirds of the way up the fell which I was curious to see at close hand..
It turned out to be quite an experience even though it was only just over a mile before the road petered out it a hill track over the top of the moor.... Read more
Anywhere on Malta, I asked which side of the road they drove..answer, they drive in the shade.
Not any more . Most cars these days have “smart “ cooling systems that can divert/ control the flow of coolant through the engine . This means that more ct sensors are needed to monitor the temperatures in various locations. Recently looked at an Audi A5 , think it had at least 4 sensors.
