So I have a 17 plate and I noticed a couple of smallish wet patches so I looked underneath and this bar underneath the car at the bottom is quite rusty and is wet. The other side of the bar I couldn’t fully see but could touch is very damp and slimy and I noticed some droplets forming and dropping,. Is this something I should be worried about and get checked. I have only had the car 2 months and it’s already been back to the garage I got it from 4 times for various things that have gone wrong such as exhaust falling to bits due to extreme corrosion. I just got the car back today and need to contact them regarding other faults so was wondering if this is something worth mentioning Read more
Which is more suitable? I am getting caught by this ULEZ thing and planning ahead but have next to no idea.
I wasn't suggesting it was a gimmick, but unless you plug-in the hybrid to charge the battery, ALL the energy you use is initially provided by the fuel (petrol or diesel). You recharge the battery going downhill, but you must use petrol to get to the top of the hill in the first place.
It really is Physics 101, energy can neither be created nor destroyed; rather, it can only be transformed or transferred from one form to another.
I have long felt that a (small) dropside pick up would be the ideal work vehicle for my needs, ideally something like a Daihatsu Hijet, Piaggio Porter or Suzuki Carry. These are very hard to come by these days though (apart from JDM import Kei trucks, which will only carry 350kg, not enough for me). So the Porter which has cropped up for sale has very much peaked my interest.
The Porters which were officially sold in the UK between (approx) 2000 and 2010 were just rebadged versions of the Daihatsu Hijet, complete with with that vehicle's (nigh on indestructible) Daihatsu/Toyota 1.3 petrol. But the example I am looking at is a 2015 facelifted model which uses what is claimed to be an all new 1.3 engine called Multijet.... Read more
I must have been having a senior moment when I started the thread as I was aware that the engine is called Multitech rather than Multijet. I even had another page open at the same time with a Piaggio Porter brochure PDF.............

Cruise works fine in trucks at slow speed (can select the speed required precisely via the digi display), i would expect a newish car to be the same.
I get overtaken and carved up regularly going down greenford road at a genuine 22mph.
Whilst fixing my previous problem rooted in a failing diesel injector loom ... I let the clutch out suddenly with medium revs and the car stationary! Causing a very hard stall! There were no sounds of anything breaking, but it was quite nasty.
I was for many weeks, driving the car with a degraded injector wiring loom, which at times caused some knocking. That is now fixed. But a new noise I think began then, and has been increasing.... Read more
It can be done on the road, but you’ll struggle big time . 2 post lift makes the job so much easier.
Hi,
Just looking for some advice.
I purchased with 0 deposit a car on finance back in august. First time buying a car. It was second hand 2019 Fiat 500. I bought it from a reputable dealer with many Branches throughout the north.
It came with 1 year tax paid by the garage. I never received any documents through the post after although I enquired why and they said everything was in hand. I went online to check when the MOT was due and it said my car was untaxed. I phoned up the dealership and enquired why and they fobbed me off saying that they were only taxing it for 6 months. Which means I have been driving around without tax for 5 months! I said I had never received any documents through the post ( which would explain no reminder letters from DVLA) they said I must have done and said they had done everything correct at their end.
I then phoned the DVLA and they confirmed that the car had never been registered to my name! It was still in the previous owners name. Legally I can’t drive my car and as I work as a home carer I need it everyday.
After contacting the garage again today I finally got through to someone helpful and he looked in to it. He admitted it was indeed an error on their part and it had never been registered. They are trying to get through to the previous owner for the log book so it can be taxed but no joy.
Please can someone offer me some advice as to what I should do amd how I should deal with the dealership at this point. I am clueless. Should I be demanding a refund for the money I have paid monthly on credit as I have been paying it when the car isn’t even mine!
Many thanks in advance Read more
“Came with one year tax paid by the dealer “ so says the OP .She also said reputable dealer…. Lol
Ive sorned my car and had it off the road for about 5 months, ive ocassionally started and checked everything is OK. But in the last month I noticed when I tunred the wheel left or righ a little or full lock, the car makes a der der der der noise both ways. Could this be down to the fluid drying up? Seems odd would be on both sides and it wasnt that long ago I had a new drive shaft fitted on one side. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance. Read more

"""And concerned that some drivers still think hot EVs are a bit dull, the firm has introduced non-performance features to try and win over the doubters.
As such there’s an N e-Shift system which mimics the behaviour of an eight-speed DCT by simulating the jolts you’d get if the car actually had gears, and the 10-speaker sound system plays different noise themes so you can pretend you’re driving everything from a 2.0-litre turbo - a la i30 N - or a fighter jet…""...
