Hey there
I know there are laws about blocking your view of the road / having an unobscured windshield but I really like this placement of my phone when I'm using it as a satnav. Is it possible, from your pov, that I could face prosecution for driving with an obstructed view of the road?... Read more
I know the op is genuine and has posted about his leaks and cooling problems, but am sure the links were inadvertent. But the Aston Martin cygnet bit got a few clicks.
Renault Megane, 2001, petrol, 1.6 K4M engine. Came out of the shops and it was running rough, On the way home lack of power, funny smells, and engine light flashing periodically. I've had the usual coil problems before, so removed connectors one at a time with no difference, apart from the engine nearly dying with each connector removal.
Any pointer to potential areas?... Read more
Yes , the mk1 Megane was a generally ok functional car with only a few issues. The mk2 soon changed all that and brought back unreliable French electrical systems . I quite like the mk1 cabriolet megane . Pretty looking motor .
I've purchased an aftermarket device to fit to my car and the installation instructions are a bit thin/non-existent.
Apparently, I'm meant to wire the red cable to the battery (at least that's the symbol it shows it gets connected to) ?... Read more

Before we get too excited, remember that the 179% increase headlined in this article refers to enquiries, not actual installations.
Hi all,
can anyone advise please as I have an issue that’s driving me mad,
i have a judder on the drivers side wiper blade, I know it’s not the actual blade as I have replaced twice just to be sure (I’ve used Bosch aero twin and a Michelin Rain force.
best way I can describe is when it is raining when the blade wipes to the side and about to come back down you can physically see it judder as if it’s not making full contact with the window, if I use the washer fluid it doesn’t do it but once it has wiped that away it starts again?
could it be something on the windscreen? I have cleaned it but have read that sometimes you need to use a claybar etc? Or could it be the wiper arm itself?
appreciate any advice
thanks

I would decontaminate the screen with a fall out remover ( auto gym 'magma' is the best there is) followed by clay barring, works for me.
Rear wiper works intermittently or in other words it sticks usually in the centre of screen or doesn't return to where it should. Replaced wiper blade. If I lift it up the motor seems to be working fine. Cleaned glass. Any ideas would be appreciated. Read more
It's sad when the original design of a part like a rear-screen wiper motor makes replacement by a used example a non-starter. I replaced the entire wiper motor and mechanicals for my 1994 Pug 306 for £25 on E-bay. I guess that is why your new motor costs silly money.
Hi,
After a recent flat battery i am getting false "take handbrake off" warnings when travelling at low speeds.... Read more
Modern car electronics are very voltage sensitive. Low battery could cause faults to be logged in the computer memories. Needs to be checked diagnostically.
Replacing the standard stop/tail and indicator bulbs with LED units and getting a flasher rate approximately twice as fast as before.
I can rectify it with an LED specific flasher relay, but does anyone know if it’s a two, three or four terminal fitment? Read more
I did wonder whether the car was old enough tech to get away with.
I lose sight of the car for months at a time as my daughter takes it to university, so trying to make it as failsafe as possible and avoid her having (unnoticed) rear lights out.
