My first post, and okay I admit it I have a Tiguan.
I traded in my less than useful mid-life crisis (according to gf) Jaguar XF in last year to replace it with something, well, more useful! Which ended up being a Tiguan.... Read more
Wasn’t the previous generation XC60 a product of the Ford bean counters? That’s not to say the current Geely designed model will be any better. I think Volvo use Aisin Warner boxes, they certainly did for the smaller XC40 (as tested by HJ), although they may have switched to a cheaper option now.
Originally, yes, but Geely took over in 2010 only two years after the XC60 was introduced, and it was facelifted in 2013. ...

Here's something for your 'research' (LOL)
Three types of 'abuse', in my view:
1. Non-blue badge holders stealing spaces because they are more convenient for the location. As long as the spaces are well signed, then such vehicles deserve to be towed and cost the owners a lot to get back.
2. Family members and 'carers' of genuinely disabled people using that person's blue badge (when the owner isn't present) to park as they please even though they aren't disabled and the real disabled person isn't present.
3. In my view, too many people get blue badges these days - I've seen 'disabled' retired people driving up in low-slung sports cars etc etc with a blue badge and walking around perfectly fine in the shop.
Rather like the 'mother and child' spaces, where 'child' should mean toddler and younger, not anyone with a child of any age or mum/dad only and no child but shopping for the family. Read more
The annual Baywatch survey conducted by Disabled Motoring UK (DMUK) addressing the abuse of disabled parking bays is a crucial initiative. The fact that two-fifths of councils do not record such misuse, as revealed by a previous freedom of information request splatoon 3, highlights a concerning issue. It raises questions about the effectiveness of local authorities in combating the abuse of the Blue Badge scheme and the need for improved enforcement measures.
I wonder if there's a way to have a similar function (as some 'social media' platforms do) to notify each user after loggin into the site that of notifications - whether replies to their own comments or posts/emails from the webmaster / moderator.
That would involve each member having 'an account' area with storage for (and thus could track) all their own comments....
