Strong bull

My elderly parents (in there 70's ) brought a second hand 65 plate dacia sandero 0.9 petrol in late august from a dealer. I did a bit of research and reviews suggested the dealer seemed ok but a bit of habit not supplying or honouring warranties. They went ahead and brought the car but despite me telling them to make sure he gave them a warranty he just said that .the invoice was the warranty.

Does anyone know if smaller wheels / higher profile tyres can be fitted to this car? I realise the brakes are normally the issue. I seem to be on an endless quest to find a sporty reliable comfortable car for 5000 miles per year. Read more

I feel sure that if you take your time you would find a FR 190 with 17" wheels. There will not many (low volume spec) but there will be some. there again i30N's are not exactly everywhere.

Hi there, hope someone can help me with this as I am struggling to find clear info.

Given all the likely hassle and the low price you can expect to get if you try to sell a LHD car in the UK, it may be worth doing the sums comparing your suggested course of action with selling it in NL and hiring a car over here when you come.

Er indoors, has decided she needs a little runaround, something small, now obviously with all the lockdown business it won’t be anytime soon, so I’d thought I’d ask on here what you guys think, the budget should be around 3k, I say should cos she’s paying, but cheaper would be better, mileage will be low as it would be mainly used as an urban runaround so no motorway use, and it goes without saying, petrol not diesel, so she likes

Not sure her size and preference for small cars are necessarily connected, some people just prefer small cars. I'm one of them, and while I'm not particularly big, I'm not petite!. And back when I worked for Stagecoach, there was a female bus driver who was 5'2", she had no trouble with a 50' coach.

Both our sons have fled the nest and we currently have a Suzuki Ignis (which, were you to get your budget high enough to get into a top of the range SZ-T version, £6.5-7k, is what I'd be suggesting). This may not be quite as petite as a Toyota Aygo, but it is around the same size as an i10. ...

I would prefer something with 6+ cylinders but being realistic if I drop that requirement would this be suitable for a tall driver who wants a reliable sporty but reasonably comfortable ride and manual box? I see the tyres aren't ridicolous as some hot hatches. Any other suggestions gratefully received..... don't make me buy an EV just yet ...... Read more

if I recall, and Skidpan can hopefully confirm (if memory serves) his 2013/14 (?) Leon 1.4TSI 140 SE came shod on the standard 16in tyres

Better memory than me. 2013 car, was told on here I was mad to buy it because VAG are rubbish. Kept it for 3 1/2 brilliant years, only swapped it because needs changed and it was too small. Bought a mechanically identical Skoda Superb but since it was bigger it lost a bit of performance and handling sharpness....

Can I use a portable jump starter on my Vauxhall Corsa Mk 3?

Can't see any problem with using one of these. I think the manual is referring to those mains booster chargers that can over voltage the system. I think that the instructions for most of these recommend that the negative lead is connected to the engine, rather than the battery. If your car has stop start, then follow the car manual instructions when jump starting. There are usually specific battery terminal posts that need to be used.

Well , in Dcember 2020 I paid £165 for my Piccanto 1 a 2010 model. I have it at 6000 miles per year fully comp self and wife. Full NCB £100 excess. It was a reduction on the 2019 premium so I am not complaining. It was through Halifax as per the previous two years. Include legal cover nothing else though as breakdown through Nationwide bank. I am 73 with a clean licence and maximum protected NCB, living in rural Somerset.
My Mazda CX-3 bought new in 2016 is insured with LV but through Mazda, to ensure that if the worst happens I only have Mazda to deal with.
Every year the renewal premium has fallen, and if it increases in 2021 when most people are under virtual house arrest, I will want to know the reason why.
